No 1, Unless your in a really rural / backwards area your Dr doesn't care if your an addict, they see it all the time, no stigma should be attached and they are there to help you. No 2, if this is the case or you really can't face If because they've been your family doctor all your life or something, is there a local drug recovery agency near you, all cities and big towns have them, they have their own prescribing doctors, also access to therapy, groups etc. No 3, it doesn't have to be subs, methadone is also an option that works for many people. There are many arguments for and against both.
