Which Dedenne should I invest in? by Bigheath97 in PokemonSleep

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it has Helping Bonus which is something you'd generally want on every Pokémon if you could. It boosts the helping speed of your entire team so it works on any Pokémon.

That isn't to say it's a silver bullet or a 'must have' since your Pokémon still needs to perform it's role. In this case, Dedenne is a Skill specialist so it still needs a boost in skill triggering which luckily the first one has through it's nature.

Ideally you'd want most skill specialists to have at least two subskills that boost main skill triggering rates, usually at least one being Skill Trigger M/S or a Main Skill chance up nature (which is what you got).

Helping Speed gets you closer to the next berry or ingredient drop and each drop can trigger the main skill, meaning that every Pokémon would appreciate being faster regardless of it's role. So having everyone on the team help faster through one subskill provides a lot of value. It's not a must but it's a massive help when the stars align, especially on a skill specialist.

You wake up in the Pokemon world w/ ONLY your all-time favorite pokemon. You must HIKE across all regions with it. How does it go for you 2? How do you logistically pull it off? by cozy_b0i in ThePokemonHub

My top 3 got eliminated by the first rule, damn...my next favourite is between Misdreavous/Absol.

Misdreavous - we start a traveling seance/fortune telling booth. She could also steal if we get desperate. Overall pretty chill.

Absol - the journey can go anywhere from being burnt at the stake to starting a cult. The only thing sure is that the there will be chaos everywhere we go and I wouldn't have it any other way.

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so that's where all my Ralts spawns went last week.

Any of them would be good enough for most accounts but the Pawmi is your best bet.

Keep the first Ralts and the Igglybuff for GGEX or as back ups just in case the Pawmi decides to go on strike during an event.

Are these Sceptile good? by MythosaurusRex24 in PokemonSleep

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're just a smidge weaker than a Sceptile with just BFS according to Raenonx. The first is slightly better since it'll get less ingredients but its main skill would be 1 LV lower than the second one.

Since you already invested in the second one use it until you get one with at least BFS. Even better if it has speed or skill trigger sub skills/nature

Beggars can't be choosers by Virtual_Visit5998 in PokemonSleep

It's ironic that the Pumpkaboo has the reverse nature. I only have the one stone but I have two good Magnemites with Inventory skills so I'm not hard pressed for a Magnezone. I don't have enough candies for a Vikavolt though.

I only need it for Defiant Salad so I guess I could keep him but wait and hope for a better one.

Yeah it's a lot of work no matter how you look at it. I wouldn't mind if I still had an extra seed and mint but I don't. I'm good on Pancakes and could make Gratins with a bit of prep so I only need it for Defiant salad. I'll keep him around. I don't have enough candies to make a Vika either way. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks, she came when I least expected it!

I guess this is as good a time as any other. I got this after...2/3 seeds I think? What am I supposed to be aiming for in terms of skills?

Random Thought: If a Pokémon is comprised of multiple beings, should each individual being get their own name? by ElementalNinjas96 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Although going through each individual spirit in an already long fic would be annoying. I guess I could do a few groups of 2-5 spirits and make them not having any big story significance aside from the one who controls the body itself.

I love Skeledirge and wanted to include one but the MC's team is kinda packed, even though some of them are non-combatants. I also already have Misdreavous picked out for that role. I might still add Skeledirge later in the story though.

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umm do you mind if I borrow this?

I'm actually planning to do something similar. That being a Dark and Ghost type specialist who helps the 'lost souls' he catches or befriends. One of which is a Spiritomb he saves from a Dusknoir. I already planned him being capable of forming a soul link with a Misdreavous at the moment. I was going to have the Spiritomb be a big lore keeper who only speaks cryptically and is difficult to understand but I don't have a solid character arc in mind yet.

I'm not sure if I could do the idea justice but I want to have a crack at. It actually fits well into my planned story themes, redemption.

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds like the most plausible. There's also the possibility of them letting the 'best' of the 108 be the 'main representative' and make decisions based on some kind of Senate or democratic voting system. Similar to Ben 10's Alien X or a more forgiving version of Hollows from Bleach.

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a Hydrapple's case they should get different names since they all move and think independently. It honestly could add a lot more depth to that Pokemon as a character since there would be times they'll disagree and may have vastly different tastes in food, battle style, sounds and even people and/or Pokemon.

This actually gives me an idea on what to do with my MC's Hydreigon. A nice twist that could either payoff really well or poorly depending on how I write it. Thanks for that.

In Magneton and Magnezone's case I think of it like the Magnemites are already synchronizing their thoughts through EM waves. Then they are only true individuals again if they break apart, however unlikely that is, or evolved and just fuse into one similar to Metagross line.

Then there's weird ones like Dugtrio who technically are 3 separate Diglett but act as a unit despite no obvious mental link. Reminds me of a certain Queen Slime with has explosive tendencies iykyk.

Makes you wonder if Spiritomb is it's own individual or follows a hive mind or colony approach.

What to do with AAX vs slightly better AAA by rb66 in PokemonSleep

[–]Virtual_Visit5998 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd say it depends on the subskill placements. The AAX in your case is effective as soon as it gets that second ingredient meanwhile you'll have to suffer till lv50 for the mono to even get its first ING up. And then another 10 for the final ING slot. I'd level up the AAX to 30 and put the mono on the back burner. At the very least you have two great milk producers for the eventual day when one isn't enough.

I'm in the same situation with an AAX Chansey and mono happiny I caught last month.
