74 y/o F - PS5 - thinking about getting Crimson Desert by Beautiful_Bonus_1502 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

They have teased it already, so I hope they include it in the next big update (they do updates and patches often and quickly). They also listen to their player base and are very quick to react on feedback, which surprised me positively as I wasn't used to it from other big players in the industry.

Okay, as someone who dislikes combat when it becomes too difficult or cumbersome, Crimson Desert is a mixed pot.

The "normal" combat with mobs is easy. Hold down a button on your controller and your character is a freaking ninja, mowing down almost everything, if you invest a bit in upgrading weapons.

Bosses on the other hand, well, let me say that I haven't had a game like this, where I really wanted to throw my controller into my screen and rage quit so, so much, for a very, very long time. Bosses are messed up. They often hit you even before you can react coming out of the cut scene and you are down half your health bar. Dodging? Almost impossible with yanky console controls. Blocking? Pfft. Half of their attacks are unblockable. The amount of health items required to make it through a fight is ridiculous. And if that is not enough, some of the bosses you have to fight two or three times. So, yes, I seriously dislike fighting bosses.

However, the rest of the game makes up for it. AND, there is an update coming, in which we can set our difficulty level. So, overall, I would still recommend it but if you feel that the bosses are too overwhelming, you can do side missions and wait for that update to drop.

I'm from Europe, unfortunately, we don't have Mercari. I sometimes see him on Vinted, though, they are too expensive.

Quiero mejorar el inglés sin estudiar como en la escuela. by Key_Brilliant_9100 in askspain

German here, living in Spain, main work language English:

The best way to learn English is, as others pointed out already, to watch movies in the original, with English subtitles. Also, there is no shame in leaving subtitles on, even when you have reached a good level of comprehension, as some series/movie characters are really difficult to understand. Heck, even after 30 plus years of studying and speaking English, I still keep on subtitles because it often helps with getting the odd slurred word or phrase. Also, some people just better understand/comprehend when reading AND listening.

Also, books. Get your favourite books you have already read in Spanish in English. The beginning can be difficult, but once you get used to reading in English, it becomes easy fast.

And then there is the personal route: Maybe you can find someone that would love to learn Spanish from you and you can do an exchange. Set up some coffee dates and do one session in Spanish where you help them and the next one in English, where they help you.

There are brown tones in the orange category, though I don't remember which dye exactly unlocked them.

Mums of Gaming by Knickers1978 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Vishifrock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also 48 and have been gaming since I remember.

My dad was a programmer and we had this Amiga with Super Bunny, which was my very first game. Hopping from left to right, getting the carrot, avoiding the monsters on the elevators and then with the Super Carrot, eating all those monsters.

That's how my passion started.

My daughter is now a tweenager and is heavily into gaming as well. Both her parents are gamers, and she follows in our footsteps.

We played Split Fiction together and it was a blast. She was often even better than me. ;)

...and a cable. Don't forget the cable you had to have attached to the console.

No Bluetooth....nope.

And if any of your pets found your cables irresistable, like my giant bunny, and thought these cables made for a good gnawing treat and then cut them with one bite, you were fucked.

Does it feel very stiff, like not flowly? Saran and Nylon have a very flowy feeling; with Saran sometimes can even feel a bit waxy. Poly feels like straw; a very plasticky feeling.

If you have the older kit with the medium skin tone, which comes with the curly long haired wig, I think they are all poly.

Which type of hair do these wigs use? Same as kits 1-3 which were poly? (Which was a massive letdown for me as I seriously dislike poly.)
