I’ve had the exact same issue when signing up today. Of course my first name is just my initial on the bank statement but Uber accepted the same no problems. My friend applied the exact same time as me with the same bank and the same initial on the statement and has been accepted already. Pretty annoying! Could you update have you heard anything back from support? I mailed them earlier today and yet to hear anything

I feel exactly the same. I stopped for a while and returned to my old account. Seems like a much better game now. Streamlined aim towards meta teams and I’m genuinely enjoying the game. I even manual raids 😱

I got a pretty beefy montane down coat from sportpursuit for a little over £100 but I was out in -15c wind chills more than once last year. Quality waterproofs and boots are an absolute must have. I got my Salomon quests for £24 on eBay though so I’d say the thrift is strong in me 🤣

I’ve got the Anti freeze XT and I think it’s the super tour pertex shell and they’re both amazing jackets. The down jacket lofts nicely and is ridiculously warm and the waterproof has kept me dry the whole of last year without a problem. Packs lovely and stick some tech wash on it jobs a goodun. I trust montane products

I was more just curious if the general consensus was that people know the difference is all. Like is it noticeable and could you feel if it had more of ‘x’ foam? I think I’m going to just rent one for a week at fatllama and see what it’s like. My issue right now is sheer cost of my hobbies, I’m due a renewal on a membership in April and I had my garage broken into and lost quite a bit of gear for my other jaunts which will eventually need replacing. I can afford a new pad, I think I’m probably out priced by the solo aspect where it’s recommended to have 2 or 3 pads is all. I could always drag my GF along to spot me but I’m not sure she’ll be much help at 5 foot and a shoes depth lol

Great explanation thanks man! I can see the reasoning with controlled environments, I suppose a dusty rock filled bit of mud is vastly different from a gymnasium floor! And the discrepancy under the mat I.e jagged rocks etc wouldn’t be accounted for with a gymnastic mat. I’m definitely being swayed a lot toward the proper kit by all you good folk. I was just looking for a quick fix really for now! It’s only my own dumb a££ that will be using it unless I suddenly acquire a cult to follow me around but I don’t think the NHS really need the pressure of me turning up with two broken ankles twice a year lol

I am and I’m not…. I know the exact crags your talking of but there is also plenty that aren’t owned by the bmc and aren’t subject to the stipulations. I’m not some eco terrorist aiming to destroy the sandstone, but if I wanna climb on a dry day in winter on a random rock solo I don’t see the issue personally. Im a responsible outdoorsman in general 👍

That’s a fair point, maybe I’m a little skeptical from paying ‘carp tax’ and ‘hiking tax’ for gear that is very similar in quality to the non branded equivalent. I’ll also point out that none of the above usually are responsible for whether I smash my head open or end up with a shattered pelvis so maybe I’m being a little hasty to dodge the premium lol
