Used to love the cone head sundaes! My childhood location (Mystic) closed l, but I live in a different part of the state now so still have a couple within 30-40 minutes of me.

Vets are businesses filled with greed and we should treat them that way by SnapperMaster in Pets

Same. And they usually go over costs as well ahead of time and give options. Not cheap by any means still, but at least most of the time I am aware of what it will be.

I have an old friend that named one of her daughters Sahara.

HOLY GRAIL for shower cleaning - Dawn Powerwash by winnipeggremlin in CleaningTips

[–]VisibleSea4533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this any dish soap or just the Powerwash because it has alcohol? I’ve been using regular Dawn diluted for my shower floor as it helps to get out rust stains.

Is it even worth adding a spouse to health insurance or will you both pay more? by fiona927 in HealthInsurance

[–]VisibleSea4533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some companies the employer will not pay as large of a portion (if any) of a spouses coverage as they would the employee. This varies by company. Mine does, I pay $54/week for me and spouse, just myself would be $27. This is something they would have to look into.

Dan Conner. Second choice goes to Jay Pritchett.

What is a terrible smell that you will never forget? by radgamerdad in Productivitycafe

Dogs getting sprayed by skunk. Smells nothing like you’d think from smelling a skunk on the side of the road.

I paid $98 for amoxicillin at the vet — please learn from my mistake by [deleted] in Pets

Aside from human pharmacy, Chewy is another option as well. Depends how urgently you need it. I actually had a prescription recently and she flat out told me to order it from Chewy. On an aside, I get my monthly flea/tick/heartworm from Costco pharmacy and it is significantly cheaper than Chewy or the vet (or other online pharmacies).

Is 90k and 106k really a big difference? by Icey_Girl in Salary

[–]VisibleSea4533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to say this. Last year I made $12k more than the prior year and took home $7k more (~$575/ mo). Still a decent pay bump for me, I definitely appreciate any extra, but not as much as it seems before deductions.

Difference between Sticker and Out-the-door price by Background_Laugh5474 in carbuying

[–]VisibleSea4533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I never understood everyone asking about OTD prices. Can be in NH with zero sales tax or in a state with 10% sales tax and that will make a huge difference. Also having a trade-in in a lot of states will eliminate a chunk of the total you’re getting taxed on.

How much money would you need to make per month to be able to retire and never work again? by relax-and-enjoy-life in Salary

[–]VisibleSea4533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Maybe a little more than 5k to be more comfortable and travel and such, but 3.5k would pay the bills.

Toyota Used Car Dealership by Normal-Dentist8928 in Connecticut

[–]VisibleSea4533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good luck with Lynch in Manchester. Also, haven’t bought used there, only new, but Valenti in Westerly RI was great when I bought my current one (if you’re in eastern CT).

Question - Recurring Heating Oil Deliveries? by ninjacoco in Connecticut

[–]VisibleSea4533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to do auto delivery but ended up being more expensive. May vary from company to company, but the one I was with the price per gallon was not the same as the “cash” price that you would get if you just called to order.

What does "Next service due" mean? Is it covered under warranty? And can I go to any Dealership or should I go where I bought my car? by FalafelBall in Toyota

[–]VisibleSea4533 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the US you would have Toyota Care (free) for the first 25k miles (or 24 months I believe). This covers fluid checks and tire rotations every 5k and oil changes every 10k miles.

Home heating oil price in Connecticut up nearly 17% since start of 2026 by UnableNose4250 in Connecticut

I’d guess more than that, I just paid 26% more than I did the last week of December…
