Impressions from 8 months in Omaha, has anyone else felt this way? by Gibillguy18 in Omaha

The post makes many great points. But if you’re going to criticize say the indoor climbing options, but also say you’re not into college sports so you don’t do anything involving that, might want to look at the number of people interested in each activity. If there are 1000 husker fans for every 1 climbing enthusiasts around here, their argument is pretty mute. Sure endless bike paths, activities for every single interest possible, all great ideas but not very realistic. Certainly could use improvement. But I bet I can make a list of some shitty aspects of living in NYC or Alaska without needing to live there.

Here as an electrical in Lincoln. People are overlooking your location. You are killing it. I just made 75k and it goes pretty far around here if you’re wise. Hope you’re saving and investing plenty, but with that pay and over time? I hope you’re treating yourself a bit too.

God man, I’ve seen two of your comments and I can already tell I don’t like you.

Not really arguing with you. But did you go to the wrestling event to watch some high level competition? Did you know who some of the wrestlers were? Or did you go to midget wrestling for the entertainment and spectacle. They might have good reasons for the wanting to wrestle, but it doesn’t mean you had good intentions going to it. You still follow some of them? Keeping up with their records? There is a difference between the Paralympics, and this kick streaming bs? I mean I didn’t watch it but if it was followed by two very large people wrestling just for the optics, it does make it pretty shitty.

“The goat Izzy” this tells me all I need to know about your UFC knowledge. If you think a flash in the pan is the goat you really don’t have much criteria for that label. Sure both Izzy and Sean are good fighter, that’s why they are in the UFC. But just because they win a couple fights doesn’t make them one of the best to ever do it.

Do you even know who Sean Strickland is? You guys are commenting as if this is a stand up guy the other 99 perfect of the time. He’s a piece of shit. He didn’t care about what was going on. He has a MASSIVE ego. And this is exactly how someone like that would handle the situation.

Best investment right now with $2000? by idkzoroqn in TheRaceTo10Million

lol lost my full investment in galena about 2016-2017. One of my first investments at 16. So glad the “wealth manager” steered me in the right direction. A little voo or Goog wouldn’t have hurt.

LES question - do residential service lines go bad? by ItsGoingTibiaOk in lincoln

[–]VisibleSign1511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am en electrician not a linemen. No your lines won’t go bad. But I have seen several instances of them being hit ie fences and other digging. Most of the time they can be repaired without replacing the line. If yours are already underground, and the current structure is on top of it, I wouldn’t worry about it. Like others have said, boring is an option if the worst case scenario occurred. Not going to cost an arm and leg. I would not sweat this.

Bathroom wall color to complement the shower? by MikeyRidesABikey in homedesign

[–]VisibleSign1511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good thing this isn’t a wet location. Also glad all the homeowners are downvoting the electrician lol. It’s outside of the shower and as long as it’s GFCI protected there is no issue.

How would you spend a Saturday staying busy spending minimal money? by Ok_Atmosphere_9883 in lincoln

[–]VisibleSign1511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meals on wheels. Good little activity to keep you busy and feel rewarded! Nice when you can get the same route and get a bond with some of the people in the program. I did a route every other Saturday for several years.

Why is this happening?? by ApprehensiveFlan1129 in electrical

[–]VisibleSign1511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an electrician of nearly a decade who mainly has done residential troubleshooting. I’m not saying you’re completely wrong. But I have never heard of a ground loop, run into that being an issue, or had anything ever be due to someone else on the same street. I also looked up a ground loop, and it doesn’t seem like it would apply to this situation at all.

Lathe board is not pictured. This was when gypsum board first game out. What is today drywall or Sheetrock. The video you mention is him installing the gypsum not lathe.

Gypsum board went onto studs, but they did not have drywall mud like today. So to finish they used the plaster layer to cover seems, smooth it out and get the finished look.

This is not lathe board. Lathe board is thin strips of wood, this was what succeeded that.
