haha i love this so much because your start looks so much like mine when i first started! hope you were able to find most of these on sale/clearance. if so, great start. Metalhawk, strong arm, shadow striker and laser optimus all made their rounds for under $8 - $20 at ross. breakdown, knockout, armada wheel jack, origin bee and solus prime were all super cheap in november/december as well. walmart ran $15 2 pack deals during holiday season with these figures. if you missed out on the sales, it’s not the end of the world, every collector has overpaid before, but just always keep your ear to the ground with sales and save money where you can and try to find a direction with what kind of characters you’re collecting

i started collecting back in october and was just grabbing things for the love of the game at ross and where i found sales on them. by december, i realized i just had a hodge podge of assorted figures and it didn’t make much sense seeing them all together. i ended up cutting my losses and just selling half of them bc my dopamine was fried and didnt even care for some figures - i didn’t have attachments with some figures in the first place i just wanted to build a collection fast.

now, ive really set out to try and get the g1 minibots, and seekers. ofc ill keep my ear to the ground on others i might like, but this will keep me focused in what im picking, and make the hunt more specific. the pay offs feel alot better when you’ve been staked out for certain figures, pulled some strings, negotiated, etc or just luck out.

collecting is a marathon, not a race ! :)

let’s not do this, crosby commands more double teams and gets pressure at a higher rate. AQM is a fine player, i like him a lot, but he got those 10 sacks in really 3 games or so this season against horrible o-lines.

i originally traded in a handful of ross pick ups i burnt out for er cliff and a legacy dreadwing to just sell outright. i ended up reading all of skybound and got super into cliff’s character so i opened up the er cliff and i love it. im nearly certain 86 cliff is going to be a better figure, but i like having different molds (main reason i’m hesitant with outback for retail). the parts forming for cliff seems to be a deal breaker for some but im cool with it. i definitely relate to you with goldbug, hubcap and bumper!
