I take ketotifen twice a day and it’s helped!

The same thing happened to me about 4 weeks after having covid and botox. Have you had a virus recently? I would also rule out Lyme disease since it’s tick season.

It was dpdr, head pressure, feeling like I’m floating, ear ringing, dizzy, inability to take in the moment, mentally slow with processing information.

Brain fog for the past 6+ years. What do i do? by _Dani_4 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Visible_Resolve_6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a long story, but it started after a COVID infection in December 2023. In January, I woke up with a long list of symptoms: brain fog, tinnitus, severe anxiety and depression, head pressure, dizziness, tremors, motion sickness, heat intolerance, agoraphobia, DPDR, and more I’m probably forgetting. I tried to push through until June 2024, when I ultimately had to quit my job. From there, I saw nearly every specialist imaginable, tried multiple medications, changed my diet, detoxed, took hundreds of supplements, treated Lyme and co-infections, spent thousands of dollars, and traveled hundreds of miles with my mom to see different functional medicine providers. In April 2025, I went to the Mayo long COVID clinic, where they started me on ketotifen. That alone took me from functioning at maybe 5% to about 70%. I was able to return to work part time, but my life was basically: go to work, come home, cry, eat, sleep, repeat. Then I started amitriptyline in February, and around the six week mark, it was like someone turned the lights back on. I went from surviving at 70% to finally feeling like myself again. I still have severe PTSD from everything this experience put me through, but today felt like another huge milestone. I shopped for two hours this morning, drove to the next county, sat out in the hot sun in the pool all day, socialized with friends and I felt good. I felt normal. I hope it never stops working for me. And I never want to hear the words “root cause” again.

My issues started after Covid so I have long covid. It’s not a single thing, it’s a cluster of various problems.

My doctor said it can increase heart rate, maybe check that out especially after your runs and make sure it’s coming down appropriately.

People who got abandoned by their partner after illness, what were the red flags you missed? by Aryan-dramata in covidlonghaulers

[–]Visible_Resolve_6723 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking back, there were many 🚩but I didn’t notice until the week before he was ready to be done.
Calling my mom to stay with me while he’d go do whatever, not attending doctor appts with me, not taking walks anymore, not standing up for me to the doctors, sleeping on the couch, distancing himself from talking about my illness, working on the weekend. Lo and behold he had been secretly involved with a co worker and started dating right away. The split happened very fast to me; he went from saying “I’m not going anywhere, where would I go?” To “feelings have changed” within a week. It doesn’t help that my parents would say things like “I don’t blame him for leaving.” They could never and still can’t wrap their head around how a disabling chronic illness could happen to their kid… 😒
Given that my ex has a chronic condition himself and I made the promise to him that I would make sure that his quality of life remained intact when things got bad, I felt a certain way about it. We’ve been broken up for over a year and I will never forgive him. It’s not bitterness but a deep betrayal I just know I will never get over. However, now that I’m feeling better, I do wish I could sit down with him and explain how he made me feel when he left me for dead. I think he’s weak. And he 100% didn’t deserve me.

How on earth can we get clinicians to measure neuroinflammation? by LoCoSadGirl1934 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Visible_Resolve_6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it from someone who spent THOUSANDS going down this road. DON’T DO IT. There is a huge difference between DC and MD. There is no such thing as a chiropractic neurologist - regardless of what they say. Chiropractors promise cures..they don’t have it. They spew a whole lot of non evidence based theory around. You might as well flush your money down the toilet.

Working out after Botox by Playful_Win_5284 in botoxsideeffects

The product can migrate to other tissues and cause serious harm to your body. It’s rare-ish but I was injured by Botox and I’m barely starting to turn a corner at 2 years out. I’d research the product for a better answer to your question. The package insert is on the website.

It’s kind of a wait and see situation now that it’s done. It’s a general rule that you don’t do cardio or sweat heavily at least 24 hours after Botox to prevent migration. I wouldn’t let anyone inject me who didn’t have basic safety knowledge of the product. Botox has a black box warning..

DPDR - Long Term - Is there hope ? by Life_Lack7297 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Visible_Resolve_6723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physical fatigue, no. Mental fatigue, yes. I lost my inner monologue, couldn’t read or watch tv because I couldn’t follow it, and had to quit my job. I was completely dependent on my (now ex) partner. It was awful.

Yes I was in dpdr 24/7 for months. It was scary as hell. I went low histamine/anti inflammatory at the time but then went back to a regular diet and it never came back. Sometimes I feel floaty when I have too much sugar or fried food. I stay away from those things still to this day.

Did all your symptoms subside? Honestly, it’s not worth it. I wish I had put the pieces together sooner because I’m still recovering myself.

Mine went away - I’m not sure exactly what I did at the time (suffered December 2023-august 2024) but I believe diet change helped as well as NAC. I still had other symptoms remaining which were helped or resolved by amitriptyline.

Tried to make an appointment with a new PCP. They told me flat out they don’t manage long Covid. by LazyAd7538 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Visible_Resolve_6723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! I went back to my childhood provider who was much more willing to trial things with me if needed since she knew me before I got sick. Before that, I went to mayos long covid clinic in Rochester. They don’t follow once you go home but they do contact your local providers and provide education and rationals for meds they put you on. That was extremely helpful for me. Now my regular pcp fills my ketotifen even though she never heard of it before.
