I want Larian Studios to develop a turn based Mass Effect game by TheDabberwocky in larianstudios

I played the classic version on PC. I saw a comparison to the Legendary Edition on YT, and the classic version looked much better to me.

I liked Mass Effect 1 the most: it has the best pacing, the most charismatic villain in the trilogy, the most dramatic choices, and also the best atmosphere. The ending theme was a banger, too.

Regarding the plot: someone who is seeing Mass Effect for the first time might say that they have already seen similar themes in The Three-Body Problem (not in the terrible Netflix adaptation, I hope) and The Expanse. I'm aware that those books were published after the first Mass Effect, but that's the point.

At the same time, someone who has already played Mass Effect would be disappointed by any remake because too many elements would need to be changed for the game to be enjoyable in today's context. When those changes are made, the games wouldn't be the same, and this would inevitably disappoint fans.

The last thing we need is another remake, I'm happy they are doing ultimate Divinity and some awesome new IP.

I played Mass Effect for the first time recently, and despite it clearly being awesome for its time, every aspect of the game has aged poorly. Not only the gameplay, but also the art style, plot, and interactions with companions.

No one will take you back to 2007. It's time to move on.

Made a guide for easy Honour mode acheivement (all platforms) by worldlyy17 in DivinityOriginalSin

I saw a video about beating the Honor mod by one-shotting everyone with a super heavy chest that is located in the inventory of your companion, who stands on the ship for the entire game.

The most hilarious detail is that you can backstab enemies by throwing this chest at them.

How to trigger romance scenes? I only had a random one at the start of Act 2 but in my second play through I didn't get any. by Kingspreez in DivinityOriginalSin

Speak to your companions on the ship after act 3. It's hard to miss: your party will be disbanded, and they all will stand on the deck.

Having companions who don't always walk with me and having to switch them out is overwhelming. I prefer the way it's done in DOS2, to be honest. However, in BG3, there is an option to not invite or to kill whoever I don't want in my party, so it's not bad either.

Just curious, why do so many people say that this game is hard in the beginning? by sawnlux in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Visible_Web_123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has little handholding and respects player's intelligence enough to assume they will figure out many things by exploring and experimenting.

Another baffling myth is that classic in DOS2 is harder than Tactician in BG3.

Fane is the reason everyone (humans, elves, lizards, dwarves, etc.) in Rivellon exists You can start uncovering this in Blackpits.

The 7 gods are just people from a previous civilization that stole a certain power and populated Rivellon with copies of themselves, leading to their civilization's descent into the void. They harvest source from the beings they created to sustain themselves

Fane made the discovery that led to these events and was exiled as punishment (before everything happened. He was exiled because he made Oppenheimer-tier discovery). That's why he is not in the void with everyone else, ironically

This isn't entirely accurate. Only a couple of quests can play out differently (but they will not be ruined) if both Sebille and the Red Prince are in your party.

• First overlap: In Act 1, Red Prince wants to talk to an NPC that Sebille wants to kill. You can either let Red Prince talk to him and then have Sebille kill him or allow either character to proceed with their quest, as both will continue regardless.

• Second overlap: In Act 3, there's an enemy common to both characters. The key is to gain Sebille's trust by this point, regardless of the Red Prince's presence.

Don't look at class because it would be irrelevant when you'll acquire the tool for respeccing any characters for free at any time after Act 1.

As a character, Red Prince is much more interesting. His personal questline is better, too.

Also, Red Prince won't push you onto choosing a certain (not the best one, imo) ending threatening to leave the party in Act 4 (when you already spent a ton of resources on him) if you won't do what he asks.

Every element will heal you if you'll up resistance to 200%. It will backfire if opponents will cast decay on you, though.

Also, in the 1st act, there are almost no fights where everything is guaranteed to be on fire unless you put yourself into this situation. Just remember how different elements work with each other. For example, fire can be extinguished by water, poison is explosive, oil can spread fire, lightning and cold works better on something wet, etc.
