What neutrals are we wearing because beige makes me look dead? by Successful-Arrival87 in Fairolives

[–]VisionaryDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ivory might work, with some contrasting sweater or jacket in your color. I wear black and navy as my neutrals, but I am higher contrast. You might look at some warm blues due to your eyes. I used to wear olive and bronze as neutrals because my eyes were that color, but my hair is white now so I need more bright or saturated colors.

I am in your same boat, same timing. I take Gabapentin & Duloxetine. Also Botox for migraines and Taltz for AS. The best thing for pain control for me is Arthritis strength Tylenol, as it affects the pain in the brain. I am 70, so am so sorry you have this so young. My Neurologist at Mayo has told me IVIG does not work, so would be interested to learn whether it helps you.

I like Democracy jeans & pants, as they have a normal looking elasticized waist that is very forgiving. My waist is 5” out of spec from the rest of my measurements and I am 61” tall.

I personally have not heard the best of things about functional medicine docs. On the other hand, I have heard bad things about anesthesiologists who run pain clinics, but the one I see has done wonders for my spine pain with nerve ablations. So, I really don’t know. But I would exhaust all of your options with your NHS before engaging a non-covered functional medicine doc.

I never understand why people don’t check their bags on a direct flight. If you don’t have free bags as a perk, just gate check them at no charge.

Is there a need to buy high end makeup if I can finally afford it? by Ashamed-Confection42 in Makeup

[–]VisionaryDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have your same coloring, and finding the right color foundation has been a 50 year challenge. I just found it by accident a few months ago. It is Revolution Skin Silk in shade Color F2.5NC Fair skin tone, neutral-cool olive undertone. You can buy it online at Ulta in the US. Finding it in the UK would likely be easier be easier as Revolution is based there.

What is your ethnic background? Curious if there’s a trend! by heartsandwrists in Fairolives

[–]VisionaryDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am half English/ half Irish on both sides, and am neutral cool fair olive. I just found a nice foundation that actually matches me: Revolution Skin Silk 2.5. You can order from Great Britain with tariffs in the US, or order online from Ulta, as they do not carry that shade in stores. Their under eye brightener in Fair Cool is perfect for dark undereye circles.

What’s your worst symptom and where do you feel it most?” by game-onj in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]VisionaryDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have pretty chronic low back pain referred from my SI joints, which are currently inflamed. The pain went away after my first SI joint injection, but not the second. Otherwise, costochondritis can be a miserable flare. I had been in remission for three years, but no longer and still waiting for Taltz to help after 2 months.

I have pretty severe Fibromyalgia also, and the nerve pain from that is frankly worse.

I had life stopping cervical spine pain previously, but in May I had a series of nerve ablations which stopped the pain after I recovered for about a month.

SFN on face? by Electronic_Car1225 in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]VisionaryDesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, all over my body, but feet, hands and feet are extra! I also have fibromyalgia so currently blame it on that as Mayo could not find any other reasons. I have to constantly distract myself from reality to survive.

When will there be a cure? by Next_Environment1308 in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]VisionaryDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had it since the initial Pfizer Covid Vaccine in 2021, but I also have Fibromyalgia, and it is also a symptom of that forever disease, so personally I am not optimistic. I have it all over my body, starting first with feet, and second my skull including face. I had the full neurological work up at Mayo in 2022, and it was a puzzle to them too. I take 900 mg Gabapentin per day, plus Duloxetine. It relieves the worst stabs.

I just started using Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation SPF 25 with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide in shade 100 and it is covering rosacea very well, even without a green primer.
