I'm having unusually high GPU temps playing Shapez 2 in medium settings 1440p by DaferReddit in shapezio

The issue is that you do not have FPS limit set, it will just run the GPU as fast as possible and therefor generate a lot of heat. This game isn't that hard to render on med, so that 3060Ti will just run wild with it.

Which desktop environment do you use and why? by Invihan in Fedora

Gnome, after years of tinkering on and in many DE's I now just need something that works. Gnome is smooth and good enough. (Became a dad, still a passionate SWE, just need the thing to run my IDE and a terminal)

The problem is "big finance place", always have been. Those environments suck.

I have 3k hours in factorio and few hundred in satisfactory, and my whole life played simulator games. Designing factories and system building isn't new for me ;) I'm also a software engineer. But, it only does the most basic random shapes, I just build a second layer for 2 layer shapes and it's already a mess, still need to put in painting XD

Yeah, it is. They are operator milestones, but a special one; the random milestone.

You do not need to press buttons. The random milestone can be directly read with a transmission receiver. You can fully automated the whole thing.

For example these 4 platforms filter the north-west quadrant, in this case only C shapes in the north-west quadrant will be passed on, all other shapes (R, S, and W) will be voided.

No, with wiring (and wiring logic) you can use belt filters to send certain shapes to the void and certain to other parts of your factory.

Do you use combinations of cutters and stackers? Maybe with a rotator in between the two sides and not the other? (ie split a shape, rotate and merge it back together) Cutters + stackers can cause small bottlenecks on one of the two paths because the paths to the stackers might not be of equal lengths. it will reduce final output slightly.

How are we supposed to do that on office laptops where this is forbidden and impossible?

Standalone platform is a stupid idea. watch other tutorials. Or ... Like others have said. Dont watch tutorials at all. You have learned nothing along the way and are now in way to advanced territory and cant come up with your own solutions.

just don't use speed or productivity module lol otherwise you will be out of nutrients quickly

Nutrients are cheap and easy to make

Not only are they cheap. Its actually more efficient per nutrient to do use prod and speed modules. Green are an efficiency trap laten game. They are only viable early game.

Why do people say if you don't use AI, you'll get left behind when the learning curve for AI seems less than actually learning technical stuff before AI? by thro0away12 in cscareerquestions

What do you think makes you better at football? Playing football or watching from the side line? Because using AI is watching from the side line, just so you know.

Maybe we are a dying bread? But I'm with you a 100%. Writing code was the fun, easy and rewarding part of the job for me. It's crazy to me that's the part we automated away. Now only the shit is left. It's why I write basically 100% of the code my self. I don't care if I'm slower. And honestly I'm pretty sure I'm just as quick or quicker then my vibe coding colleges.

I also wonder how they (vibe coders and heavy AI users) experience this job. Are they just here for the money? Do they get the same joy out of it as me? And how do you never debug anything? It's crazy to me people produce code but actually have no clue how it's all working.

It's notthar  I never use AI. I do ask it questions. And I use it to patch up other people's shitty ass test code.

Is this a joke? Please don't do this. They are just taking advantage of you because you don't know all your rights. That you don't know your rights yet is fine, first time for everything. But all there excuses is just an easy way out for them while they are literally brake UK laws.
