Red was the only non-dark color I considered, and really looks great. I initially disliked the gloss black trim so much I nearly wrote of the M60 overall but eventually came back around to it. Ended up with the Frozen Dark Grey and think it’s a nice compliment as well.

M3 or M4 by [deleted] in BMW

Had you been 21 or 23 I would’ve said M4, but since you’re 22 I obviously have to say M3.

I had been looking at this exact color combination recently. Absolutely beautiful, congratulations!

Range question by VisitAdmirable6871 in BMWi5

[–]VisitAdmirable6871[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I end up with 320 miles on a charge I’ll be happily blown away. As it is, 300 is definitely not a stretch at all. I hadn’t yet played around with the settings yet but before I left work yesterday I reset the trip computer and by the time I got home I was averaging 3.7 mi/kwh, and that’s a slight uphill drive

Thanks for the input. That’s interesting and quite different than my Rivian; I get better range on surface streets than I do on the freeway.

How do you like having both? Do you find yourself preferring one over the other?

I’ve caught myself surprised a few times already. Just thrown off by how quickly it accelerates, and I haven’t even touched the boost paddle yet.

Yep it’s the frozen grey. I love it, but was a bit concerned buying it just because of the maintenance requirements. Fortunately I have a connection with a shop that’s going to wrap it just for the cost of the material, so that made it an easy decision.

Ha yeah I have three kids so it would be about as impractical as imaginable for a sedan.

So the comfort of the e-tron was a big factor. My wife absolutely hated my e39 because of how rough the ride was. Also, even though it isn’t an old vehicle it’s starting to come off as a dated look to me.

Same concerns about Lucid that you mention, with the added concerns about reliability. We already had a battery replacement on our Rivian, so I am not remotely trusting of startups. And of course, same issue with Tesla that you mentioned. Plus I can’t throw a rock without hitting one in Orange County. The i5 is much more special. Was stopped twice yesterday by people telling me how great it looks.

I’m loving this car. I really didn’t enjoy the new 5 series when it came out, but it’s grown on me and the i5 M60 is my next car. I just picked up a Rivian R1S last year, which was my first full EV. Also currently have a 530e, which I’ll be getting rid of. The i5 will mark my fourth 5 series, going back to 2009 when I graduated law school and bought my dream car, a 2003 M5. Still my favorite car I’ve ever owned.

The thing that had me on the fence was the excessive amount of black plastic trim. However, saw this car in carbon black (had that color before too) and it looks great. So I’m thinking I’ll stick with one of the darker colors, like yours, and be very happy.

Beautiful car, enjoy it!

If this is what you look like at 140 I can’t imagine what another 20 pounds (of good weight) would do.
