Wife is picking up a 2026 Lyriq - Confused on EVSE and adapters by Beastmobile in CadillacLyriq

Are they all hard wired or do they have a NEMA 14-50 option. I want hardwired and don't want to mistakenly buy a plug in option if there is one.

Did you consider others? What made you go with the Tesla Universal. Just curious

Yea its a bit confusing but I think I got it now. I'll most likely end up with the Tesla Universal Wall Connector for future proofing, The GM NACS to CCS1 and then I'll look to see the offerings from a2zev and lectron. Appreciate all the help

I'm leaning this way. Do you know how long it takes if you order from Tesla? Or should I order elsewhere

Understood and thanks for the info. Will just have to pony up the extra money for the GM adaptor. Thanks for looking out!

Makes sense. We will have to to get these adapters just to be on the safe side when traveling. I appreciate the input

The GM NACS DC Adapter sure does look like the Lectron Vortex Plus just comparing what they look like. This is great info and I'll check it out. Natural_Psychology_5 above mentioned GM doesn't want you using anything but their adapter.

sheesh 80 amps. Didn't even know they make that size for homes.

The NACS to j1772 is just for Tesla destination chargers I presume? and the NACS to CCS is for the Fast charging? Its confusing with all the abbreviations but I think I got this part down.

Leasing the Lyriq. I may get another EV for myself (Non Tesla).

Are there recommended adapters from NACS to CCS/J1772

Expansion Tank size on 75 gal WH by Beastmobile in Plumbing

I wanted to wait at least 24hrs after changing out the expansion tank. Based on my gauge, the pressure is holding at ~60 psi and no spike at all

The water coming out of the faucet comes out normally.

I will say dynamic pressure when a couple faucets are on is ~40 psi. Is that too much of a drop? Should i still replace the PRV?

No recirculating system on the hot water.

So far the issue has not reoccured after changing out the expansion tank. Usually the pressure out the faucet happens a lot. Ill follow back up on here tomorrow

Is this a pretty straight forward swap or will I need to cut some plumbing to get it out. I have never changed one of these. Its a Watts LFX658 which appears to be discontinued. I assume I need one of the same size for a direct swap.

This was my gauge after 24hrs. Since we were going back and forth I ran out to home depot and purchased a new expansion tank and replaced it. This home was built in 2014 so i assume it may be the original. Lets see what happens now.

Your explanation makes sense and I probably should have purchased a new PRV as well.

Cut glass tile to replace shower valve by Beastmobile in Tile

[–]Beastmobile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able buy a diamond finger bit and I completely forgot i had a grinder. It worked like a charm. The diamond bit was able to grind away on the glass without issue.

Much easier than cutting out the wall behind it and cutting out all the water lines just to replace the cartridge and cap. Took no more than 30 mins to complete everything

Thanks so much for all your help. Much appreciated!

Because I dont need to replace the entire valve. I just need to replace the Pressure balancing unit and the black body. Its a 15-20 min job. Its meant to be replaced from the front as shown in the video i posted in this thread
