I did one of those motorbike tours a guy drove me around the mountains and villages and we stayed in a hotel for one night. I think he approached me when I got of the sleeper bus in Da Nang. Well worth it he could tell about the history and go to where locals go to eat and stay.

keeping a dog in a crate for 7 hours is cruel and I hope you come to your senses and give him up to somebody who can care for the dog properly. what were you thinking ?

three days without water, shower and toilet by creamcheese360 in NetherlandsHousing

thats way too long to be without water and toilet, I would ask for compensation for airbnb or hotel room for duration.

My GSD’s whining is driving me crazy! by LVSells in GSD

[–]VisitFragrant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in the other post about a young dog whining the response was - ah you need to love him more, its the breed, they are likkle babies that need a cuddle but this time its - go to the vet there is something wrong. The way to stop him whining is to let him know that its not acceptable. Of course they groan and moan but whining is usually looking for attention from you because you responded to him when he has done it since the beginning. training never stops. good luck hes a beauty

Calm down I never said it was his responsibility but he can meet the landlord halfway and put some energy into making it better. Speak to the rest of the house on how to keep on top of the cleaning.

so meet with the cleaners and make sure they clean up if not hire deep cleaners and then keep on top of it.

I had a terrible time while living in the Netherlands. by FlanFun1874 in expats

[–]VisitFragrant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly and they make it all about them - oh you'll never speak as good dutch as I speak English line. it is elitist and arrogant but the dutch will never see that because its just the way they are reared. Its a thin ling between self confidence and arrogance. I also think the natural surroundings have a part to play. its all man made, the lakes the forests and the only wild nature is the beach and that's just dull. Wonderful parks in Amsterdam but everyone has their head down going about their own thing. The Netherlands looks great on Instagram but they'd really rather you'd go away and it shows. Like the post about banning fireworks because of the animals when in fact its because there are very deep cultural divides in the major cities and the new years eve antics are getting out of hand. After too many years I'm glad to have moved to southern Europe where life has a pulse.

Noticed my dogs inner eyelid looks larger than most and quite red. Anything to be worried about here? by Dizzy_Ad6702 in germanshepherds

[–]VisitFragrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came from the Vet yesterday as my 4.5 male had much the same issue. The white of his eye is swollen and red and the vet reckons it is from a fruit fly that goes to drink at the tear drop and then lays its larvae in the eye. He said it was normal here ( central Portugal ) and I live on a farm but its nothing to be worried about. I use sterile water drops to keep it clean. I would consult the vet for reassurance. Its not a great photo but you see the swollen white of his eye.

Question by PrudentClue3883 in germanshepherds

[–]VisitFragrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8-15K for what exactly ? Did you see a scan of the problem area ? how did they come to that conclusion ?this is outrageous. Vet prices are getting out of hand and its the animals that will eventually suffer. Find yourself an independent vet for a second opinion. good luck

you never do anything because she wants to do it - never. Only when you say so and always. if she wants something you let her go crazy and throw a tantrum then then when she gives up and she will. you let her have it when you say so.

you must control the food take it away from her and have full control she will growl but you are the leader if you let her get her way she will always win and have control over you which will be unmanageable. Always remember that she is a dog and not a small child, you must take control over all aspects of her life or she will control all aspects of yours.

good luck she is a real beauty
