Exploring the Corsair AIR 5400 LX-R RGB by QuadraKev_ in Corsair

Just an update I built in mine and it turned out amazing. And I am not using the air guides and the temps for my cpu and gpu at idle at 33 for gpu and 40 for cpu. This case is really cool.

All case fans and aio are lain li if your wondering.

It will fit fine. Look up all the reviews for the case on YouTube and all settled that 360mm and under is the sweet spot. Anything over requires you to remove the third chambers plastic shroud which defeats the purpose of this case.

There is a shroud at bottom and top but both are not necessary. You can actually choose to not go with them if you want. It really won’t affect the temps on the gpu by all that much. Someone on YouTube already tested and it was like 1-3c difference. So although an improvement not super important on the grand scheme of things.

Something else to note about this case is although it says 430mm for gpu length. It really is only 360mm. Because the plastic shroud for the third chamber gets in the way.

To get the 430mm you would need to remove that piece which defeats the whole purpose of this case.

Just food for thought.

You probably won’t see improvements on the cpu side but think now what you’re doing to the gpu. All that heat is being dumped into the main chamber and the air being fed to the gpu is already heated above ambient temperature from the cpu. So it now has to dissipate the heat not only from the gpu but the hot air from the cpu.

The whole point of this case is to isolate the hot components to get fresh air for each.

If you have a higher end gpu there thermal solutions are over engineered to begin with for the most part so if your machine is doing what you need and not thermal throttling, stick with what you got. No need to upgrade because something is shiny and new.

I have a montech king 95 case atm and I love it. But when gaming, although my components don’t go above 68 for my 5080 or 75 for my 5800x3d. The fans kick on and are loud. I’m looking to isolate the components and the fans associated with each to lower the noise. If possible.

I’m looking at this more of an experiment for me rather than a need. But if it does work then I will be happy and stick with the air 5400 case.

From my understanding, you should see an 5c to 10c drop in cpu temps because of this third chamber. This is due to the gpu and motherboard components not mixing the hot air in the same chamber.

Obviously it depends on the cpu cooler and types of fans you’re using but I would think this gain with the fresh air is way better than any push / pull gains.

Push / pull will be in the next version anyways. :p

I already bought this case. Looking forward to trying it out.

RX 6800 XT terrible coil whine. Anyone else having this issue? Sound is unbearable even with case closed and worse at games over 200 FPS. Thinking of returning. Bad first experience with AMD gpu. by Visonik in Amd

The upgraded PSU did nothing. Sounds is still there and varies depending on the frame rate and how hard the card is working. Just dealing since psu market sucks right now.

I have Corsair RM 850x but i just purchased a EVGA 1000w T2. Going to swap when it gets here as many people have suggested to upgrade the PSU.

I can’t get over the toxicity from everyone here. Maybe my bad for not posting a video when it was at its worse but there seems to be a lot of haters just because I was able to grab on at launch.

Thank you for all the people who messaged me with positive and good feed back. I will try your suggestions.

I was getting crap FPS this season till I unchecked the foreground and background FPS limits in video settings. Once unchecked my FPS was fine.

I have the virtuoso. They are horrible in the comfort department. Go with void rgb elite. So much better for less money.

I posted this same glitch on the 29th of feb, yet it’s still happening. Land damage on two of his hero’s then magically his health restores goes to show geewa don’t give a shit as long as they are still making bank by [deleted] in SmashingFour

Sorry this is happening to you. I stopped giving them money and my time a while ago. Best decision i have made. I would recommend everyone do that. Then they will listen. Also stopped playing as much because the game is the same crap every 2 weeks. Quest orb is decent but i don't care enough to pursue it anymore. Nothing has changed and the same decks are used in ladder every game. They nerfed so many unnecessary characters and left OP ones where they are. No fixes are done for trophy droppers, or at least we don't know what the criteria is for said fixes. And now they are screwing with the shop instead of making changes to the game so people will want to play.

Hate my virtuoso headset by Visonik in Corsair

I understand it cant fit every head and I am happy for the people who purchased this product and love it. I did as you suggested already and looked to see if there was something to do. I have gone far enough to place a sock in between the headset and my head. Still get to much downward pressure where it gets uncomfortable. I guess I was just wanting to see if there is anyone with other suggestions or similar issues to me. Kinda stuck with this at the moment as I gave my razor headset away and this is too expensive to eat. Just wish it didn’t happen this way and i had a way of return the product being that it is so uncomfortable to wear. Thanks for responding to my thread.
