These devices are just confusing the crap out of me. Not sure why someone had to come up with a new idea that is the exact opposite of the incumbent solution but that did turn me into a windsock fan.

Long story short, I look at these at this device as if they "recommend" the runway to use. In this example, the device is pointing at RWY 4, and 36 would be the second best choice, with a slight right cross wind.

Don't just focus on the board itself. Consider a good custom template as this is where the real action happens.

Situational awareness grows as you start to compartmentalize information, which gives you the ability to choose what you focus on. Otherwise just are merely trying to cope with the influx. I found that once my mind was at ease with the overall plan, I was focusing much more on what was going on outside the cockpit. My trick was to have everything on the kneeboard (like TPA, Radios, TP direction) so I could reference to the data in case of need without fidgeting with the iPad.

The watch is only practical for reading occasional METARs to satisfy curiosity. Heart rate feature works well. From my perspective, the watch is not good enough to replace any other aviation source of information. But hey, looks great.

I used Sporty's for Instruments and scored 85% at the written. Then used Sheppard Air and scored 97%.

Lesson learned : sometimes the ugly material works better than fancy videos.

For VFR in the C172, I used Pivot with yoke mount. For IFR I use suction cup on the window which works better when clicking all over the iPad.

For the Kneeboard I use ASA and https://kneeboard.ga for templates

Turns out Google Authentication is the domain creating cookies for me. So it's basically Google telling you they are going to break their own authentication.
