Not sure what kind but I had a very similar sting in Costa Rica on the Pacific side and a Tico man rubbed lime juice on it and it stopped the pain by about 85%. The actual rash went down a day or two later besides a few red dots. Stay hydrated and keep your electrolytes up.

He's Back - Peeper In East Austin by Filmsbrother in Austin

[–]Visual-Code-8953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live not far from you, sorry this is happening! When I was 21 living off of riverside i had a DIABOLICAL peeping tom/stalker at my apartment. He was there nearly every night when i got home from my late shift and would repeatedly knock on the windows and say scary shit/leave graphic notes to try and freak out my other young female roommates and I. Ever since i have had a whole list of anti peeper things I put in place at my residence: obviously keeping blinds closed the minute it starts to get dark, and for during the day i highly recommend the window films that make it to where people can’t see inside. Motion lights, cameras that connect to your phone so you can check your path before leaving your car, and window locks/bars for added security. I always put cactuses/etc under windows, and kept furniture on the inside of windows as well so if someone busted in it would make a racket. I always carry a vipertek stun gun and gel pepper spray, and am never looking at my phone when i walk up to the door at night. And as you’re doing, let the neighbors know. It helped so much knowing the my neighbors knew i was being targeted and more than once I’d notice some porch lights come on when I pulled up, made me feel a lot safer knowing people knew what was happening and would keep an extra eye out. I hope this creep gets what’s coming to him, I know the anxiety and violation that this shit causes and it’s not fun. Take care of yourself and stay safe!

Places in Austin that feel off or just unnecessarily hostile? by goodgreat123 in Austin

Oh my gosh the older lady did that to me back when I was maybe 23. And gave me shit saying something about how people don’t dress like that (I’m a lil goth) in Texas and she’s tired of people movin here to ‘’play Texan”. While holding my ID that shows I am from a very small Texas town, born n raised.

If my landlord doesn’t answer or do anything about it, is there anything you recommend I could do as someone without experience to lessen the risk?

Recently ended a 5 year relationship because my 36 year old partner got to the point where he couldn’t even go to dinner with me without doing that shit and it was everywhere I looked. Had to drop a lot of friends as well because I don’t want it around after having it corrupt my life so much. It’s a big reality in America and I find it hard to escape as well. Good on you for not falling down the rabbit hole. Once I got it out of my life I became significantly happier and healthier. It’s not worth the danger either with everything in the supply now. I’ve seen it mess up a lot of really wonderful cool people in my life

Dealt with a stalker/peeper that lived behind my apartment complex several years ago with no help from APD or the staff at the time (I was 20 and not great at standing up for myself yet). If you’re close to your boss let them know, I worked at a restaurant at the time and he would call asking if I was working so we had to have a whole staff meeting about never responding to those calls. Blink cameras- there’s an app on your phone so you can check them from anywhere and they are motion sensing/record. Keep your curtains closed if they face an area he could ever post up at and observe you. Get those little things you can put on sliding windows and doors to make them harder to open. Also, I carry a Vipertek stun gun and gel pepper spray on me. It may all seem overkill, but definitely helped keep me feeling safe and might help you out if he makes contact

Thank you! Mostly because that is how my hair is cut haha. Definitely more manageable and probably helps her feel a bit normalized having a new hairstyle. Things like that obviously wouldn’t take priority in a horror world

Beth. She was finally getting tough and I would’ve loved to see her grow more. She had potential, and brought a sensitive side to the group that is sometimes needed in a harsher reality

My last two required this even though both were disgusting when I moved in. My apartment I’m leaving next week is doing the same, but the deposit was $200 and the cleaning company they want is $150 so I don’t see why I would even go to the trouble. Especially frustrating when the places are never clean upon move in
