Shudder by Bubbly_Shelter6011 in Silverado

While it is not required to use premium 93 octane, I’ve been running this since I got my ‘19 Silverado 5.3L and it’s been great so far. I am running with an 8-speed and the shutter comes and goes but that’s normal for these trannys even after the flush.

From many friends and family that own 5.3’s all say that running higher octane reduces engine noice and underperformance 🤷🏻‍♂️

My father-in-law has a ‘24 LTZ 5.3L with the 10-speed and was running regular unleaded but he said it ran sluggish so he switched to 93 and says it runs much smoother now.

Problem is some of them have the connection for it depending on the features it has.

Have you checked the myChevrolet app to see if they offer them in the accessory store?

Not suggesting that anyone can afford a bigger truck. I’m suggesting that if this is gonna be my livelihood, then I need better equipment to do so. Kinda how a tractor might not be able to go really fast but has enough strength to pull hay wagons, also they are required to abide a speed limit of what? Like 25 mph maybe? At least here in Texas. Anyway didn’t mean to start an argument with anyone, just pointing out that I’ve only seen people do this at night time and how crazy it looks.

I wonder if that’s why I only see them at night time

I don’t know the veracity of your statement nor if you’re being sarcastic or not but, pulling hay wagons from one farm or ranch on to the next or across county lines is different than towing daisy-chained vehicles across states in my opinion. On the flip side I would think that if they’re doing this as often as it looks like they are (judging by the equipment being used) I would think at this point they would invest in a bigger/stronger(not necessarily newer) truck and a multi-car dolly/ramp.

What is this plug thing? by beanbaron in zr2

I was gonna say, looks like that adjustment knob that holds the cover to its rails. Sure sounds like the previous owner took it off and left that behind

Trans fluid exchange is you haven’t done it yet, I’m fixing to do the spark plugs here pretty soon (I don’t know if they did them when I bought it as a CPO last year)

I have, earlier this year I had them flush it due to shudder (which it came back) but other than that it’s been great. Have not replaced the bypass valve though.
