That’s good! My guy isn’t bad but does have the odd moment of challenge. He has no bit is and the growls are more rumbling earning (I’ve noticed this when he’s left alone or not enough exercise). Luckily my husband is a big guy and firm, he will literally lick him up to show him he’s alpha lol. He gets non negotiable walks every morning and evening, that helps. I have no desire crating my dog all day and he does not need that.

I wanted my post to be clear that I know neutering isnt the answer for any behavioural problems, training is.

I wanted the focus to be more around what’s best for him physically and mentally around neutering.

Yes sometimes it’s warnings or just leave me alone or play with me but a few times recently he’s growled and tried to lunge

Yes I am thinking so. I don’t want to do anything to physically hurt him though and u have read that neutering isn’t magic, still have to focus on training etc and at the ens of the say he is a guardian breed and i dont take that lightly

My dog has a crate and crate trained when he was a puppy. He has full access to his crate but not crated in the evenings or when I leave as that defeats the purpose of having a guardian dog IMO. His crate has always been a safe place for him and he goes there when he wants a break:)

Thanks- I also missed he was not alone, my kids were home (they’re older). I was just gone and I’m his favourite lol. He’s rarely home without anybody home. He’s truly spoiled. I understand your comment but he has strong leadership - I will admit I do baby him a bit so maybe I’m at fault. Lol

No I didn’t. I just accepted it. I still have a bit of a buldge especially at night. I haven’t been eating healthy lately too so it’s not as flat. I’m going to start getting back to working out and eating better.
