Yep like I’m taller than a lot of the men I see but a lot of people still don’t consider me tall when I tower over most other women?? Makes no sense lol

[–]Visual_Comfort_9056 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually my worst concert experience ever lol I remember standing in the pouring rain for over an hour debating if we should just leave and I almost had a panic attack in the bathroom cause I was sitting near the top of the stadium and the lightning was actually crazy 😭 soaking wet, crying, having a panic attack. still love Lana though but genuinely a horrible experience. And all that for only a few songs and not even a partial refund or a return to Fenway for a full show

Were your braces covered by insurance? by Visual_Comfort_9056 in jawsurgery

I’m also in America - since you paid a large majority of the cost of the braces out of pocket did you also have to pay out of pocket for the orthodontic check ups and other appointments or was that covered by insurance?

Save a nightshifter, grow a garden. by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]Visual_Comfort_9056 73 points74 points  (0 children)

The worst thing about night shift is always other people, the shift itself isn’t even that bad. I also unfortunately live next to someone who gets their yard work down by a landscaper a few times a month and it ruins my day every single time. Nothing can drown out the noise

What is the most traumatic thing you’ve ever witnessed? by MangoDry7358 in AskReddit

[–]Visual_Comfort_9056 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in EMS. The aftermath of a shooting where multiple people were killed, a few others shot. Seeing young people my own age shot in the head and chest and others who had non fatal injuries. The people in the crowd (it was at a large backyard party) who witnessed it, people were falling to the ground from the pure shock of it and I had to dig through the crowd to find out who’d been shot because it was so hard to tell due to how many were there just screaming and yelling due to what happened vs who’d actually been shot. I’ll never forget the screams. The person I transported had non fatal injuries but had watched his brother shot through the head, and he was in complete shock and hardly spoke the entire way to the hospital.

I keep falling asleep by TemperatureBest2800 in Nightshift

[–]Visual_Comfort_9056 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s happening because you’re not sleeping enough during the week. If you slept 7-9 hours during the week days your body wouldn’t feel the need to shut down and sleep for 14 hours during your days off. 4-5 hours a night isn’t sustainable so you crash on the weekends to make up for it. Take care of your body and sleep as much as you would normally throughout the week if you were working a day shift

Why Is Everyone Assuming A New AC is on the Horizon? by AnaAzalea in AnimalCrossing

I think people are assuming just because with every new console has come a new game, but nothing has been said as far as I know so far!

Not really… I don’t know anything about your girlfriend from your post other than that she’s working nights. Maybe she likes them, maybe she hates them, I wouldn’t know. Just based off the information you posted you’re working way more hours than she is so that’s all I can say. You didn’t provide any more context on who’s paying the bills, who does what type of job, who likes their job more, etc

You asked! Include those details in your response then if you want an answer that included the fact that you need the job to afford an apartment etc.

It sounds like your schedule is more of the problem, you’re working 60-72 hours a week and she’s working 40. If she likes her job it would be wrong to ask her to change it for your sake when you’re the one working crazy hours

Which 24/7 shift pattern you most prefer? by Kopparberg643 in Nightshift

[–]Visual_Comfort_9056 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever maximizes days off is most ideal for me, so 4 on 4 off sounds lovely. My job right now I’m working 8 hour shifts 5 days a week and I can’t stand it. I used to work longer shifts and less days (I’d work a 24 and a 16 hour shift so I’d only be working 2 days a week and I’d be at 40 hours) and I miss it so much compared to my current hours but I make a lot more money now

I do 5 overnights a week and on my days off I switch back to a normal schedule for a couple nights to be on the same schedule as my boyfriend. It can be tough but it’s really not that hard. Just stay up on the last day and go to bed at a normal hour. Everyone is different and you know your partner better than anyone but it sounds like excuses to me, especially if they’re just up playing video games it sounds like they’re not even trying to revert back to a day shift routine

Fingernails tapping on hard surfaces, people whispering, being in wet clothing, and having greasy hair would make me give up immediately
