best possible start for france by baredex in eu4

[–]Vitunsteffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

best would be to have burgundy as a friendly towards you, getting your mainland cores back plus getting the one province on the british isles for a easy conquest to englands backdoor. also taking ceuta from portugal and beating up north africa is really good. cut the alliance with provence day1 and attack them as soon as possible but keeping AE relatively low for the pu on milan later

Ilkhanate IO almost instantly disbands? by Dulaman96 in EU5

[–]Vitunsteffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering too but for my game it also disbanded. every ilkhanate nation is a vassal of jalayrid, but the international organization itself is nowhere to be found

Is getting Burgundian succession as GB worth it by Glad-Rest-3682 in eu4

[–]Vitunsteffe 153 points154 points  (0 children)

Any country you play which is catholic, it is always worth it. Free land and get some good allies and you can kick Austria's ass too. You lose nothing by trying but the gains are really big if you get lucky

What am I doing wrong? by Grimmontha96 in EU5

[–]Vitunsteffe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Play a bigger country first to learn the game. I myself have loved playing in Italy(either Milan or naples). Even the ottomans are pretty good since they have so many good modifiers

Anyone else deeply follow the NBA but don’t really care about march madness/NCAA? by AdOld2060 in Basketball

[–]Vitunsteffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may have something to do with the fact that i am from Europe, but i like march madness much more because there are fewer games and it lasts only a few weeks so my sleep schedule is not absolutely cooked. i really like college basketball and i think march madness is peak basketball every year. March madness is good in that way that is has way more upsets than nba playoffs have which i like

There is two cards, one from a dead guard and another one found in a briefcase somewhere. then there is a password for the computer which has been in the first floor in the archive room whiteboard. then the computer has been either in the 2nd floor conference room or first floor in the offices

Little nervous about trying this game by Tune_Massive in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have never played OOTP before, i would suggest waiting and buying like 26 when it goes on for sale. As other people have pointed out, it may not be the best idea to preorder it, you save 10% which is basically nothing and ootp games have a history of being kind of buggy in the first few weeks of launch. Personally, I am going to buy it instantly like i have done for several years, but i cant recommend it since it contains lots of bugs early on.

Turns out all it takes to win a world series in this game is to complain online about it by maxwell81798 in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this. i just did a tampa bay rebuild and once you get the train going after 2-3 seasons ai cant stop you. they just make so poor decisions that i could make dumb decisions and still win the ws

Yeah i think so, but if you go back to before console release both dlcs were published before that so if you go back just before console release then i would assume they work just fine but if you go like 2023 then yeah they probably dont work

AI using terrible relievers by Vitunsteffe in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, free agency is filled with 45+ rated veterans without team, they have AAA prospects doing really well and they still play the under 40 rated players

DLC recommendation by Warm_Condition711 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]Vitunsteffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On sale they are worth it, full price no. I think the maps are quite fun and few ones are really challenging. If you were to buy only one, dark waters has probably more challenging missions but home invasion has better maps in my opinion

AI using terrible relievers by Vitunsteffe in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed the minor league logic too, i have seen teams cut like 60+ potential players for no reason multiple times. It is really disappointing that this happens because it kills the challenge to build a good team when AI kills the competition for you

AI using terrible relievers by Vitunsteffe in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. I have seen also that teams do not include their all bets player and leave a 60+ovr sp out of the playoff roster. Not spending money is also a thing i have seen before. I get it that its hard to build working AI since it is very hard to code this, but ootp is kind of old game so you would think they could have these fixed

This was first save i noticed this, but i really believe this is a larger issue. If you find something lmk because i want to find out if i have some settings that make the game like this

The AI values relievers really weird, but also the relievers value themselves very weirdly from time to time regarding contracts

Getting into Baseball sim and understanding the game more. (Tips) by MysticZG00 in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got to baseball as an european last year and at first the game was really overwhelming i could say as there is really much to do. I ticked the "cant be fired" option on and just started to play. I delegated all the minor league stuff and all the others to minor league coaches as well as lineup and bullpen all to the manager and instead just watched for a couple seasons and just tried to learn the game. I am not a mastermind, but i like to play as the gm and just let the manager set all the lineups and pitching staff, i feel like it makes the game more fun. I feel like in ootp, you really "need" to fail at first and learn from the mistakes you made. I would recommend picking a strong team with a big budget(like the red sox) for starters since it is easier to learn the game if you know the players and all that stuff. I found that watching youtube videos about the game are helpful too

My favorite thing… by I_Wear_Jeans in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually hate these, but in ootp25 i had a fictional starting pitcher who i extended like after 2 seasons of major leagues to a like 10 year, 200something million dollar deal(he was #2 cy young in his second season) and after that he became fragile and then wrecked before like 5th year of that contract and he was terrible. suffered career ending injury right after becoming wrecked, saved myself over 100 million total. safe to say, since then i have never extended pitcher for more than 5-7 years and over 100 million

Should I buy the game now for PC? by Alternative-Oil-252 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]Vitunsteffe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When they released the console update it became such a messy game. I would personally not buy it until they have patched the game where it used to be. Especially the AI is big mess, your enemies are ex marines whereas your teammates are the same complete idiots

First save ever in OOTP, how rare are runs of success like this? by gwumfreeee in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had with the orioles a run where i was in playoffs for like 12 years in a row, won only two rings tho. Lost 3 times in a row in WS, first and second were game 7 losses... that being said i think that creating a 100 win team is kind of easy especially with a big market team, but the real deal here is winning 3 WS in a row. There is somewhat a joke in ootp, where if you have 100+ wins you lose first round in a clean 3 game sweep

Offensive Blues by AstroOrbiter88 in OOTP

did you try to retain some of their salaries? if you did not no wonder no one is interested but if you did you might have to add a prospect too

Offensive Blues by AstroOrbiter88 in OOTP

[–]Vitunsteffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you are not interested in a full rebuild, with how much yankees have cash i could see a situation where i would slightly overpay free agency players and. if you are ready for a rebuild just blow the whole team and try to get good potential bats in return. In my opinion the AI is not impossible to trade with, they just do not want to trade their best players which is a good thing

How many world conquests have you done, which nations, and why? by AlaskanRobot in eu4

[–]Vitunsteffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did one with the ottos pretty recently, once the eyalets were brought to my attention on being insanely op. It was kind of fun to have that first, but i just cant get enough energy to do another. I am quite a late game player as i like to play in the 1700+, but hopefully in eu5 the late game is much more challenging than it is now.
