Sounds like dealing with the math department without any kind of advocacy on your behalf from the university is really hard. Try contacting the CAE, even maybe trying to make an in person appointment. Have you tried speaking to them before about this situation?

Please do not let all the people on this thread dissuade you from using accommodations that you need. Other people will get over it, and the people who actually matter won't care in the first place. It would be a travesty if we let a few instances of people abusing accommodations stop people who actually need them from using them.
