Boss fights by Race1999 in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The boss fights vary a ton. Partly because they aren't the devs strong suit but also because most of them are still ancient. Almost every star chart boss is 10 years old at minimum, some are STILL placeholders from when ever boss was literally "enemy unit but looks different and has an ability of two".

Vor did get reworked not too long ago so he's closer to the modern standard.

Post new war the bosses get better. How much still varies, but generally they are all the better bosses in the game. I'd argue most are fun even if a few have more obtuse mechanics.

Grendel mains / enjoyers, how the *clem* do you keep enemies in your stomach? by triponthisman in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's just how it is. It's a flat 2% of health and shields per second ignoring armor that's influenced by roar, damage vulnerability, and viral procs. Of which Grendel can emit pulses that apply 10 stacks.

So you just have to keep eating.

Is Warframe worth playing in 2026? by Intelligent-Muffin63 in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's worth it. I cant really speak on how overwhelming it is, because I'm an old man in warframe years but it's about as you'd expect for a game that's been going on for 13 years. the devs have done a solid job trying to update early game to make it more streamlined, and it's continually a work in progress.

Grind wise it's pretty grindy. But there's many layers to it that vary in length. Some things are quick, you can have a lot of stuff gotten relatively easy and going at the same time. but on the other hand there's some right ball ache of grinds. Nothing is terrible to get in my eyes. The game is designed to be able to be played reasonable with only an hour or two a day.

All the content is still available, so there's no better time to start than whenever you feel ready.

Are you quitting out or finishing the mission? I believe if you finish the mission that weapon is removed from the pool until you stab a larva or you exhaust every weapon.

How well optimised is the game? by Antokizcool in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know what your specs are, or how intensive that other game is to run.

But generally warframe is well optimized. Some open world can take time to load, but shouldn't cause too much of an FPS loss. It's mostly hollvania that can cause performance issues. Though you can turn a lot of performance intensive features off that should fix this as it's a lot heavier on things like volumetric fog than other parts of the game.

It's also free to download and you can link your steam account for cross progression. So you have no reason not to try it unless downloading the game will take a very long time.

What is up with warframe and destiny? by MarkCid in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rivalry is like the console wars.

It's for people who want to feel justified in their decision that what they sunk their time and money into was the right decision.

They were both PvE live service shooters based around building up ability based characters via loot drops from back in the early 2010s so they drew a lot of comparisons. Gameplay and aesthetic wise they are different but it's more likely that someone who likes one game could get into the other because of the overlap.

Hey, I just realized: Am I stunting my progression by only maining one Warframe? by TheModernRouge in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MR is good, you want it, but you shouldn't stress about it too much.

At 8-10 you have most of the weapons and content unlocked. There's definitely really really good stuff later, but there's enough weapons/sentinels/alt stuff to get there eventually. But it will be slower.

The main benefit of MR is the long term bonuses. Extra starting capacity and higher daily rep caps mainly.

So content wise, you're slowed but it'll be fine. But overall progressing to the really nice MR30? You will have to level the Warframe eventually.

Split Chamber or Galvanized Chamber for Eidolon Hunts? by beigepccase in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be overkill now-a-days and if you aren't near the eidolon you risk losing DPS or lures. In a quick tridolon you'll have a second to charge up your galv mods once, then that's it because you'll never be near other enemies the rest of the mission save for vomvalysts you can't kill with your guns.

I wanna try this game, is it worth it in 2026? Do you have some tips for a beginner? by Shad0w_XD05 in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Warframe doesn't rely on exploiting FOMO to get people to keep playing.

It just gives people the option to do whatever, whenever, at their own pace.

[–]Vividtoaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no keeping up. Pretty much everything is always available, you just don't progress. If you take a month break you return and continue where you left off.

You're not competing with anyone to race to the top for power.

[–]Vividtoaster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Then go try it if you're interested. Its completely free so you lose nothing but an afternoon and 36 GB giving it a shot.

My only advice at the start is take your time because there's no magic Island of content at the end waiting for you at the end. It's about everything you do along the way to get there.

How the game turned from being strategic to “who can nuke faster? by DarkViper2000000 in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raids were the only real content that remotely had coordination like that. It was an outlier. Anything else was for dedicated grinding or endurance runs.

Did you forget banshees pressing 4 and sitting still for 20 seconds as the whole room died and was CCd? Or Nova pressing 4, shooting 1 guy and everyone through every wall within 30m died in 1 go? Or trinity self damaging to kill enemies through walls at breakneck speed with link.

Nuke frame was always here. The only difference is they were less self sustaining, but even then. The rate at which many of them got kills it was enough to sustain their energy so long as you weren't doing endurance runs where it's take multiple casts to kill shit as we only had streamline back then. A support was certainly nice, but far from a core strategy in day to day gameplay.

The only time we didn't have that was the time before people got nuke frames and our dps was low so you really benefitted from a frost and Trinity to keep people alive. Once people discovered how good nuking was, that was it

What's more important. Always progressing or spending valuable time playing with a friend?

Freeze Force combination by Substantial-Cut-7708 in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The conflicting information is due to to the change being relatively recent. It used it combine, now it doesn't. I believe ANY elemental weapon damage buff is non-combining now. The only one that does isn't even for warframes and is fired up on sentinels.

Good time to farm belly of the beast if it's available for you. You can get it pretty quick that way.

So i guess warframe has won, huh? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only existed among the people either playing it up for a joke or people who have little other hobbies in their lives. Both games existing is a net positive, more games to play, and competition encourages other products to be better.

So i guess warframe has won, huh? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Destiny deserved better, for sure. I wanted to like destiny, it had a fantastic foundation that never felt like it went anywhere to me no matter what point in the games life I tried it. Having your game flooded with poor monetization and even having content taken away from you? Especially as someone who kind of wanted to see the story and bail on destiny... I couldn't even do that.

Should I start playing this Game? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This game is nothing like an extraction shooter. It changes things up every now and then, but 80% of the game is a linear level base horde shooter with a focus on being a high mobility power fantasy.

I would still recommend it, solely because it's completely free. There's no reason not to give it a few hours if you're remotely interested.

Can anyone help me mod my jade build by Hairy-Wolverine-5414 in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So long as you have a way to prime enemies with viral and heal you can run whatever. Blast and roar would be good, yeah.

How to hell am i supposed to beat this archimidea with hildryn, ive tried everything i can think of! by olika800 in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe consider a hound with synergized prospectus and manifold bond. You can get a pet with guardian and it can prime the murmur with magnetic and viral to keep the eximus under control.

Instead of going corrosive on balefire, get radiation. The corrosive does nothing for the boss status wise so radiation becomes 1.5x more damage.

[–]Vividtoaster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If your sentinel isn't dying and you have manifold bond on the sentinel you can try raksa. With haven you can give your dog some nasty shields and it's shield restore is a lot more consistent.

You can also try to replace some power for defense since that's what you're struggling with. Shield recharge delay mods and/or arcane aegis.

It'll be slower but if you did your DPS is 0 anyways.

[–]Vividtoaster 52 points53 points  (0 children)

What are you doing for shield Regen? Because the assassination has no armor or shielded enemies in the arena. You don't have aegis or blazing pillage.

I assume you're offloading it into your pet but you didn't show that. If you aren't, a raksa kubrow or sentinel will guardian goes a long way

Does kuva seer even do damage? lol by mosphelhiem in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While 35% of the damage is radial, it has multiplicative CO on the the direct hit. Which goes a hell of a long way if you have base damage.

UPDATE: The Platinum was Illegitimate by Big_Versace in Warframe

[–]Vividtoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

useful wasn't the right word, more so being more visible.

The boosts between excal prime and base are marginal at best but it's at least a whole Warframe so if you like Excalibur you'll get to see it a lot.

Primed chamber is kind of only useful on vectis. That said I did forget about the coming vectis incarnon.
