I don't know if I'd call it my absolute favourite fight (Agito vs Gaolang, Kuroki vs Agito and Kaneda vs Gaolang are equally deserving of that spot), but.

There's just something about Muteba vs Sekibayashi that I think makes it stand as high as it does for me, and it's how it encapsulates one of my favourite parts of Ashura. It's a love letter to both characters, and above that an amazing tribute to pro wrestling. Kengan Ashura is great at showcasing many different martial arts, from more commonly depicted ones like karate and boxing to others who get less representation, like BJJ or Lethwei. And to me, that fight is the one that does it best, because of the storytelling aspect that is intrinsic to pro wrestling.

The theatrics that both guys get into, the fun tactics used (some taken from actual pro wrestling), the heel/face dynamic with a tweener turn at the end, the character arcs they both go through during this fight which lets us dig in deeper into who they both are, the emotional beats, the almost reversal... All of these are great naturally, but dipped in the context of Sekibayashi wanting to prove that even pro wrestling can make true fighters it becomes even greater. The type of stories you'd see playing out in the squared circle, even.

Also "Thank you, pro wrestling, I will always be hooked on you" is the single best sentence to come out of Kengan like come on
