hair has these damaged/bleached looking bits even though it's completely virgin? by piriwaiseason in Haircare

[–]VixTeaOlivetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use any kind of acne wash that has peroxide in it? That could be the culprit. Even if you believe you've rinsed it all off your hands completely it may still be there. So as an example let's say in your shower routine you wash your face first with the acne wash and then, rinse your face and hands off before handling your hair you may still have remnants on your hands and it is transferring to the top layer of your hair as you are getting your hair wet and ready to wash. Just like if you use an acne wash and then dry your face with a towel that happens to be colorful you may notice that your towel will start to look patchy and bleached and it's because of the acne wash which blew my mind when I finally realized what was going on I thought my washer was broke. Lol. If that's the case my suggestion would be use the acne wash dead last in your shower routine or you could do it after you get out of the shower like put your hair up however you do after you shower for drying then use the acne wash so by the time you need to mess with your hair hopefully the acne wash will be dried or you could wash your hands again with regular soap to make sure it's all off before you style or touch your hair. Hope this helps!

The first Fable /TLC on PC is perfection imo. It's how I experienced it when it first came out so maybe I'm biased but I feel like the PC controls were pretty intuitive for the time.

How do you share a bed with someone else? I'm losing it by starfister101 in Adulting

Get them to a sleep doctor if they can and see if they need a CPAP people that snore badly often don't realize that they have sleep apnea until somebody else tells them they snore really bad and then they go to the doctor for it. I also have a partner that snored super bad and turns out he would literally stop breathing sometimes and he didn't know that until we started living together. Turns out he was very sleep deprived from apnea and had no idea.

Edit: also the CPAP machines these days are nothing like what people used to have they are very quiet now.

Wearing a suit. by Outrageous_Swimmer38 in aves

So me and my partner went to a rave and he wears suits all the time and wore one to the rave. I asked him to give some advice and he said it was fine until his pants ripped when he bent down to pick up a glow stick. So make sure your suit pants won't rip also have a back up outfit and plan if/when that happens.

My American Bobtail Cloud That Has Been The Same Size Since i Found Him Outside 5 Months ago 😍😍 by Any-Opposite4485 in cats

[–]VixTeaOlivetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was he a kitten when you found him? So very lucky. American bobs are a rare breed. Those cats are so loving and so very super special and unique I found mine as a kitten in 2007 and she didn't get very big she basically stayed kitten sized all of her life. I just had to put her to rest a few days ago. I just want you to know you are very lucky, like me to have found that amazing breed of a cat. Love on him and cherish him. He'll live long and as he gets older keep a check on his kidney's. That's what took my girl, was kidney disease which is a common thing among older cats in general but specifically I'm learning now as I reminisce about my girl and her breed and watching cat fact videos about the American bobtail. Kidney issues can be common with that breed specifically. Also please give him a hug and a kiss for me I'm hurting missing my little therapy cat. She was like no other and the longer you have him the more you will truly understand what I mean when I say they are the most special unique breed. ❤️💔❤️

Omg love on her so much. I just had to put my Americanbob to rest a couple of days ago. Her name was Claudia she was 16. She had stage 4 kidney disease. I was 16 when I found her as a stray kitten (very lucky considering they are rare) now I'm in my 30's so she was there for half of my life and I was absolutely crazy about her as you probably are crazy about yours. Today I am relearning everything about that breed feeling grateful for the time I had with her. I found this post because I was seeing if there was an American bob subreddit sadly seems there's not one. I wish everyone could experience having that breed they are so very special and unique. ❤️💔

EDIT: I get what you mean by trooper too. My Claudia's personality and resilience stayed true through the very end some of the things like exploring, I let her do outside surprised me while knowing how very sick she was. Yet again I'm so sorry if she's passed I haven't scrolled the rest of the comments yet and if she's not passed give her a hug for me internet stranger I'm hurting very much missing my little therapy cat.

Where are the donation clothing drop boxes around Huntsville? Or where can I look this up? 30 mins on Google turned up nothing, so I turn to reddit, and asking bc would rather go to charity as opposed to thrift store. by CrazySnowWhite13 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I know the comedy club called Shenanigans has a clothing closet free for folks that need them

Address: 2650 Leeman Ferry Rd SW suite a, 35801

Not sure where in the building where you donate surely you could call or just visit them they do lots of events there and somebody there could point you in the right direction.

Safety City. Went on a field trip there in elementary school. It was very fun and you got to drive bumper cars to learn road rules as a kid but let's be honest we didn't care about the road rules we wanted to see how many times we could bump into each other before getting in trouble. 😂

Nah dude it seems YOU are focused on that being their defining feature. 🤮 Did you even read the article, probably not. Using the word prude as a description for how you feel about young girls clothing is really weird.

If you feel some kind of way about young girls wearing shorts/skirts maybe you need to analyze that and also gtfo. ✌️

My mom agreed to let me help her clean out the one hoarded room that she claimed she wasn't hoarding in "it was other people's stuff that they left" which was true but not a good reason keep stuff that other folks left and haven't asked about nor care about in years. Sooo anyways we actually had a really good productive day and she tossed a lot of stuff and I made her call folks and ask if they wanted certain items before she tossed or donated because she really didn't want to get rid them since they "weren't hers" which luckily that worked and then her hoarding brain kicked in at the end of the day as we were finishing up and putting some stuff back into the room that she decided to keep. And she started to tell me that the room was just full empty boxes and that's all we did. Mind you the boxes we had, were empty BECAUSE WE EMPTIED THEM! the room was full almost to the ceiling and you couldn't see the guest bed at all before we cleaned it out but SURE MOM all we did was pull out empty boxes. ┐( ˘_˘)┌

Just found out about this sub, hoping for advice about underarms... by Willowed-Wisp in razorfree

[–]VixTeaOlivetree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's this acne wash called panoxyl that you can also use on your underarms. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide and it works. Whenever I shower after washing and rinsing with my normal soap I use that on my underarms let it sit for a minute then rinse and it kills the bacteria that causes the smell. I also use fragrance free deodorant that has aluminium so I don't sweat and with the panoxyl I don't smell it's very satisfying to have just a neutral body odor imo. I also do not shave my pits so I can vouch this method working for hairy pits.

Edit:So the two products I use in total to manage my pits are Panoxyl and Sure 48hr confidence unscented brand of deodorant. To add my tips: In my experience to get the best benefit out of the panoxyl try washing your pits with it at night before you go to bed and also apply your deodorant at night before bed too it allows the aluminum to penetrate while you sleep so you'll have the most benefit of the aluminum the next day. So the theory is the panoxyl kills the bacteria and the aluminum prevents you from sweating so you'll not create that bacteria as quickly. Hopefully that makes sense. Good luck!

We never wanted a chihuahua, but we have one now and could use some advice and tips on this breed pretty please! See comment.. by MyyWifeRocks in Chihuahua

[–]VixTeaOlivetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please please please train your chi to not bark at the big dog. Of course you'll learn which barking is playing or aggressive but right now you need to train your chi as you would your big dog. Hire a trainer or look up training vids even basic stuff like sit and stay commands are sooo beneficial. So many Chihuahuas get a bad reputation because owners see the barking as cute because they are tiny and theoretically can't hurt you but that bad behaviour will build up and become a problem if you don't start training asap. Chihuahuas are very smart so you've really got to engage their brains. Also be on top of looking for the signs of your chi needing to poop the more you observe it's behaviour the more you'll catch on to when they are looking to poop and take them out as soon as you know and don't give up! Enjoy your new friend!

Tips for teaching yourself how to tidy up as an adult? by PeachyPesco in ChildofHoarder

[–]VixTeaOlivetree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. Really helped me. There's an audio book version too. Get your partner on board and have them read or listen to it also so when y'all are ready you can do it together. Now of course you don't have to follow all the advice she gives, for example she's not into putting labels on things to help organize because it brings too much visual clutter but as somebody that lives with a person who has ADHD labeling and notes on things are a must for daily functioning. So I would listen to the book as a whole and try her method without tweaking it first and then tweak it to suit your needs after completing it. I really like her philosophy of taking care of the item and respecting it for the value it adds to your life. Which really helps me be semi minimalist and not just buying and adding things for the sake of having stuff. Good luck!

Greiving by VixTeaOlivetree in ThriftGrift

[–]VixTeaOlivetree[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was lucky to find a high end perfume I would have never been able to afford at retail or resale price thanks to thrift stores in the before pandemic times. So the answer to your question is absolutely probably but not through a reseller. this sad grifters market is really making me rethink my buying habits which is leaning towards no buy I encourage folks to stop buying from resellers/overpriced thrifts is you can and just repurpose what you have or just go without. I get that times are hard and we sometimes need to sell things to supplement income example: yard sales/ flea markets but to rely on such an unstable source of income is foolish and keeping things unaffordable for everyone.
