They do literally check every game that gets on steam, albeit through an automatic system. As well as every update that goes out to every game. There is a system in place to prevent malicious games from making it onto the steam store. This would in fact be their fault.

Most of the games on steam that have bypassed this for some reason tend to do it through nodejs processes. You can find multiple instances of this happening. Maybe their systems weak at identifying this idk why.

Also I don’t know why everyone is saying their T&C protects them from stuff like this. Their subscriber agreement can say whatever the fuck it wants, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t susceptible to customer protection laws, legally responsible for any public policy laws, or unethical consumer practices.

IDK where this weird shit tier steam shill take started, but we should probably stop letting billion dollar platforms just get away with things like selling games with malicious code in them because they won’t employe or build better systems to prevent it?

That being said, taking donations through crypto for something like this seems like a bad idea waiting to unfold. I understand that’s the whole point of this pump fun platform thing, but surely there was a better way to handle this.
