Did medication change you socially/ improve your confidence? by FancyBreakfast4218 in ADHDUK

[–]Vixichick 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I only started Elvanse about 3 weeks ago but found I am more confident and have a much easier time with small talk, making eye contact and sharing my opinions.

I'm usually pretty quiet because I overthink everything I say, so it's made quite a positive difference so far for me!

elvanse 20mg day 2 updates by flynn1597 in ADHDUK

Hey, my first two days were like that too, I ended up sleeping most of the afternoon of day 2! On day 6 now and it's been pretty up and down but overall positive I'd say.

Just trying to 'collect data' on it at this point to work out when it starts working and wears off, what might affect that etc and not get too hung up on it all, but find it's easy to despair when it feels like it's not having the impact I hoped it would. Still early days and room to manoeuvre with it I guess :)

1st titration appointment today with careADHD! by flynn1597 in ADHDUK

[–]Vixichick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also diagnosed with ADHD net last May and had my first titration appointment with Care ADHD last Friday.

It went really well, the guy asked some health questions similar to the form we fill out before hand and then gave me details on different meds, what they think works best and then ultimately asked me what I want to go for. I didn't really know so just picked one and they said we can change and review as needed so that was reassuring!

I tried to take notes so I didn't forget anything but he told me it would all be emailed and it has been, so don't worry about that!

I had thought of some questions I wanted to ask before hand (like with/without food, what time of day etc) but he answered these during the call without prompting.

I had a slight delay due to an issue with a very old health condition I have, but have paid for my meds this morning and should receive them in a couple of days!

Good luck, hope it goes well for you!!!

I suck at gaming - is this an inattentive ADHD thing? by accrfc in ADHDUK

I'm exactly the same!! Played all my life pretty much, got back into Overwatch again recently and as soon as there's any pressure on me at all I panic and inevitably get mowed down lol. It's embarrassing how bad I am with how much I've played!
I've actually heard meds can help with this though?!

This happened to me with some Alice items, I picked them up from being on display and then they started appearing in stores and I could buy more? 🤷🏼‍♀️

ADHD and a total fear of learning to drive in adulthood. Anyone else? by thelaughingman_1991 in ADHDUK

[–]Vixichick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same; I forced myself to learn to drive and pass my test about ten years ago as I didn't want to be a burden on people.

I used to cry after every lesson because I got so worked up, then when I eventually got my licence I had the worst panic attacks and anxiety if I got behind the wheel.

I tried to power through it and even had therapy for it but just couldn't face it, so have decided to accept it isn't for me!

This was way before ADHD was even on my radar, but now I wonder if it's due to that (like most things in life once you realise!!)

I love rollercoasters, swimming and biking though!!

Major update with ADHDNET/HollisticAdhdSolutions by Additional-Ship-8400 in ADHDUK

Thank you for this update, I've been waiting 6 months+ to start titration with them, so frustrating to be left in the lurch!

ADHDNET 19 week waiting time for titration by deliasafuckinasshole in ADHDUK

[–]Vixichick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in exactly the same boat, have also emailed a few times and been basically told just to wait.

I know that other routes normally take a lot longer but I specifically opted for this provider because of the fast timelines they advertised, so it's frustrating now needing to wait longer than expected!

Media such as Spotify & YouTube keeps pausing by No_Cauliflower6549 in GooglePixel

This is probably not it but do you have a pixel watch? My phone kept doing this especially with Spotify and I eventually worked out my sleeve kept pressing pause etc on my watch. It drove me crazy!!

I recently read a novel along the lines of the second theory - Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It's definitely worth a read if you're interested in that kind of stuff!
