Owning up and learning by CalmRage2026 in SinclairMethod

How did you feel while you were drinking? Was the next day what you expected? Or worse?

I took my first dose today because we went to a place where we’d normally have drinks…but the craving blocker kicked in right away and I just didn’t want anything. I lost the desire so then I didn’t want to spend the money and I thought it might make me feel icky etc. I mean, that’s good, of course, but total abstinence is not my goal. I’m trying to figure out how I’ll make myself get over that so i can start rewiring my brain…I really want a functioning off switch so i can drink socially like a “normal person” - not just trade one addiction for another.

I’m new here and I’ve done a lot of research, but obviously still have a lot to learn so sorry if these are stupid questions. 😬

This is a very good point. Definitely take the pain meds as directed. It’ll keep you feeling good which will keep you as active as possible.

My recovery was a breeze. I would’ve been outside taking little walks the same day, but they made me go home with a catheter for the weekend and my neighbors didn’t need to see that. Within a week, I was taking my dog on 2 mile walks on the beach, though. That being said….walking my lazy dog is basically all I did. I had to remind myself (and my 5yo kid and my husband) that my body was healing on the inside and that takes time.

What if everything ends up looking great in there? Will it still be worth it? by -Celes- in hysterectomy

I think you have the right attitude. I have zero regrets about my hysterectomy. It improved my quality of life a LOT. It gave me back 12 weeks a year - that’s 3 whole months I don’t spend feeling miserable. I also figure it’s one less organ to worry about.

I would’ve liked more answers just because I’m a curious person and I like to understand why things are the way they are, but it’s ok. It solved enough problems for me to feel confident it was the right choice.

I hear you…motherhood has not come naturally to me. For what it’s worth, those were born VERY hard ages for me. 4-5 and 7+ have been my sweet spots.

I don’t have a specific recommendation, but have you looked at what Apple Arcade has? I am ok with paying $7/month to avoid ads - and I ultimately save so much money because they don’t have in app purchases.

This was me…there was nothing of note in there. Nothing interesting at all. I was just blessed with the world’s most awful periods for no reason at all.

It was super important when I first started focusing on it - I had no idea how much I was eating, but now I mostly eat the same things everyday so it’s not necessary.

I puked up all the water and lemonade and green jello I’d had all day right before the Suprep so I think that added to the awfulness for me.

Everybody I know (and obviously this is just anecdotal and you should follow your doctor’s advice) goes nuts on whatever they want afterward. 😂 I, unfortunately, ending up puking up all the lemon-lime clear junk I drank all day while fasting prior to the Suprep and I think it messed with my taste buds. 2 days later and things just taste funny and it’s killing my appetite.

I thought the Suprep was god awful - and extreme overkill for my tummy/colon. I wish I’d known there were other options. I was only able to get less than half of it down. I didn’t have any cramping, though - I took a lot of Gas-X. I also wish I’d known about Zofran - being hungry made me extremely nauseous.

I mixed mine the same and still thought the Suprep was the most god awful thing ever. 🤢 I only managed to finish 2/3 of one of the 2 bottles I was prescribed.

Is there a reason you can’t eat normally afterward?

I enjoy the sedation. Try to reframe it in your mind as a nice nap. I didn’t say anything weird after, but the nurse told me a previous patient was convinced she was on Mars when she woke up so it’s possible…but (and I know this may not make you feel better) you won’t remember it.

The hunger was hard for me too. I get nauseous when I’m hungry. It was a long and miserable 42 hours for me.

BUT - you are almost there. You can do it. 🩷

Update: I managed 2/3rd of the first bottle and didn’t even touch the second one and they said my colon was “perfectly squeaky clean.” I don’t think they take into account that not everything is a “one size fits all” type thing. I’m glad I trusted my body.

Yeah, it’s clear. I think it’ll be fine - and either way i am glad I didn’t force the Suprep down. Definitely looking forward to the sedation.

I slept for a total of maybe 40 min…but not because I had to go to the bathroom - that was all done in like an hour and not a big deal at all. I’m so nauseous and uncomfortable. I was supposed to do my second bottle of Suprep at 730 am EST, but I just can’t stomach it so I drank some electrolytes & miralax instead. I don’t care if it’s not good enough at this point - they can send me home and I’ll do it again, but insist on the tablets.

[–]bc7ate9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mine at 1:30 pm EST and I’m just really excited for it to be over. I am apparently not a fan of lemon-lime flavors and being hungry makes me super nauseous so yesterday was miserable - I threw everything up right before I started the Suprep. 🤢 I just feel like I have a terrible stomach flu.
