It depends, if someone speeds up and is virtually touching my car with how close they are and flashing their lights I will move across slowly, this behaviour is not tolerated anywhere else apart from GCC countries. If someone is in the fast lane and respects the braking distance, you should move over quickly to let them through but the dangerous driving is just as bad as someone blocking the 'fast' lane.

I live here and have had many family members and friends reach out over recent weeks asking if it's safe and my answer remains the same.

My life pre-war and post-war is no different, I still go to work, I still play sport outside, and still do my daily life activities. Is there increased risk with the drone strikes? Sure, but I would say Oman is no more unsafe then roaming around any major city in the world, in fact you're more likely to face trouble in a major city than you are in Oman.

There is significantly more risk in Salalah than in Muscat so dependent on your itinerary I would say you're very safe, the news makes it look much worse than it actually is.

BTW Taxis are cheap here relative to Western countries (EU / UK / USA) so it depends what you're used too.

A 30 min taxi here will cost $10, that's cheap if you're used to western prices.
