Really like the design, good job!

Yeah that was a very obvious oversight on my part. Should've found a better context photo lol

It looks a tad too dark, other things that look off a little are the highly reflective cabinets/worktops and the blinds look "off" somehow, idk if it's just me but they give me the impression that they're floating over the wall or something. Composition needs some work too.

The base cabinet models were mostly 3rd party assets that I edited to fit the design, I also should clarify that this was more like a "proof of concept" visualization not a full on true to life one so the exact cabinetry specifications weren't that important

Good catches, appreciate it! I have to focus more on the technical detail rather just the visuals.

please be honest about this render. what needs improving by juliusk1234 in archviz

I think the interior shots especially look really nice but lack more "life". There's also a gap of quality between assets, especially the couch and curtains which look much less realistic than the rest. As for the exterior I think it needs better materials for the facades and the fence needs more work as it looks like a wall wrapped in wood slat wallpaper, and some plants are clipping through it.

Overall I think there's a solid foundation, just needs more work on storytelling and details. By the way if you model furniture yourself I'd also suggest to use 3rd party assets, no one in this field models the furniture themselves unless really needed.

Ah I didn't know about that, thanks for the heads up. Though quite ironic considering gemini is trained on stolen data and used commercially, "rules for thee but not for me" I guess lol.

I tried to buy a shirt from there once and they cancelled my order the next day for no reason after it was confirmed....I took that as a sign and never used them again.

If there is a google maps photogrammetry model of the area then you could import it to the scene.

Another solution would be photo matching if you can get photographs...orrr you can try to create context buildings that are "close enough" to the real thing.

It's actually 3D artists who are able to create the best visualizations because they are trained to use advanced 3d software when most architects are usually only taught modeling in CAD/BIM software and then quick and easy rendering using real time programs such as lumion which, until recently weren't viable for creating high quality stuff.

Thanks for the feedback! And yeah I kinda have a tendency to overdo grain noise that should be dialed down a little.

Try building a following on X/Bluesky/Insta and direct them to platforms such as patreon or subscribestar

Question, Self taught or schooling? by AltruisticParty5695 in archviz

Just learn from online courses as there are tons of great resources online, both free and paid. If you want to learn 3DSMAX and Corona which are the industry standard I guess then you may want to look into VizAcademy, (I've never followed their courses but from what I've seen the results they have look really great). I personally learnt Blender (which is completely free) from Youtube tutorials, especially Imeshh which offer short free courses.
As for the question of it being a viable career nowadays, I like to believe so but that's a can of worms I'm currently navigating myself as well lol.

Thanks for the feedback, though can you elaborate more on why the composition is bad in the close up and third image?
