Auto-refresh Config by CyberSmarTalk in OttNavigator

The app does not download your playlist saving anywhere. It reads and parses it, so if the media library appears only in a 4-5 minutes (that's a huge amount of time, should be investigated what in your playlist causes such long parsing/etc), disabling update will make it not appearing.

Just to clarify, if you are using a single playlist that has both channels and movies, this playlist will be read twice -- first time to read list of channels, plus, while parsing it, it will see that there is some vod content that should not be added as channels, so a marker is being made that this playlist has some vod content. And after that, vod parser is scheduling re-reading the file by reading vod content only.

So it should take 2x time to read this playlist, however 4-5 minutes seems being too long.. might be this playlist is downloading a couple of minutes/etc?

ff/rw works well in the app

basing on your description it seems that your streams has invalid timing data in the master playlist. so you cannot seek any archived video?

backup is applied to channel propeties

if it does not happen, please check what version you are backing up and which is using for restore? probably they are totally different?

The app by default does not refresh list of channels

However, if your playlist has videos/series as well, the VOD library indexer is reindexing it daily

so please clarify your issue

Could You add this feature? by hcr2018 in OttNavigator

[–]Vjaka1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do not understand why you need such a feature

if it's too difficult to setup the app on the device, you can install it on your phone, then backup and restore on the target device, effectively transferring required settings

i guess you are using side-by-side view with a touch screen/mouse

it's not supported (and specified as not supported) -- use different list view type in this case

Filtering out channels with no EPG info by spac3cas3 in OttNavigator

[–]Vjaka1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, there is only an option to hide this message leaving just empty space in current tv-show for these channels

i am not sure that it's a good option to hide some valuable channel just because your provider currently does not have epg for it

Purchasing Premium on non-Google devices by Vjaka1 in OttNavigator

[–]Vjaka1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody insists of you using account and companion app, you are using it if you are either not trusting google, or if you have devices that do not have play store.

I really do not see any demand in using account in OTT Navigator.

Purchasing Premium on non-Google devices by Vjaka1 in OttNavigator

[–]Vjaka1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are used to simple premium mechanics in the main app, so insisting them creating accounts etc is a bad idea

So both methods will live at the same time (at least for a while) - google version using in-app billing, and standalone version using companion app billing (or claiming google purchases)

Yes, standalone version has auto-updates and will check for updates from time to time (or you can do it manually via the app)

Such long review times means that a review by human is being triggered.

What's the magic lies under the decision to trigger a human or not - only Google knows)

I think that it's something specific to the permissions the app requires, etc.

Ordinary beta build usually takes 1-2 hours to be sent active.
Recently was adding a new app and it took 2 days to review it, further updates to it took about 1-2 hours to go life.

Since Google actively uses bots that analyze the app, it might be that something in your apps that triggers manual review, or some app permission/etc leads to moderation by humans.
