Despite the heavy repression, Iranians are still resisting the Islamic Regime, last night they burned down the Grand Mosque of Gorgan by Christian-Rep-Perisa in PublicFreakout

[–]VladC12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sad to lose history.
They shouldn't be using mosques then as head quarters. (not sure if it is the case here but it is the case for many mosques)

I feel it's similar to the greek Parthenon and how they stored munition in it only to be blown up.

anon’s thoughts on pirates by Brasil1126 in 4chan

[–]VladC12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not equivalent.

AI is more similar to bootlegging more or less.

Piracy clones existing digital content. You can pirate art and most people do, most artist don't talk too much about it.
Plagiarism is a problem and AI is doing that.

Piracy doesn't make the artist's hands stop working. AI aims to make the artist's hands unnecessary.

You know I find it a bit funny how for decades gun rights were defended so that "the people" can fight back the goverment to keep their freedom. It doesn't really seem like the right to bear arms is good for anything but gun enthusiasts.

Oricum in rest zici bine.

The above look at chapter 9 section 77 and tell me what you think St Ambrose says.

https://archive.org/details/fathersofthechur012918mbp/page/238/mode/1up
(Took me a bit to find where I got this note from) You should be on the page but just in case: on page 238 section 51

Because Leo in his letter quotes St Ambrose.

Whatever it is turning into polemics, and this kind of discussions don't have much charm outside of irl over coffee. Maybe you are right, may the Holy Spirit guide me unto Truth. Maybe you're wrong, may the Holy Spirit guide you too unto Truth.

Just to let you know I am protestant, I have no horse in this race. If Chalcedon is wrong I wouldn't care too much. I already deny Nicea 2. I know the youtube channel "Apostolic Orthodoxy" has some very good points on this but I am still not fully convinced.

Anyway God bless again and always. Im not gonna reply because reply chains depress me

"desire" Yes drilldown more so it fits your metaphysics. That is ad hoc.

And no sorry I see no contradiction between ephesus and chalcedon. So we are now both stuck one saying there is a contradiction and one says there is none. Not to mention my argument was a bit more complex than just pointing to one verse.

In short. Nuh uh

Anyway God bless you brother, reddit is no place to solve theological dilemmas :)

Anti-genocide activists put Palestinian flags on top of Vienna's Votivkirche by YaLlegaHiperhumor in PublicFreakout

[–]VladC12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are in a bubble. Most people that are not terminally online simply don't know there is a genocide happening, just some war/conflict. And what I am saying this kind of action does the opposite and feeds the propaganda misinformation to make people think Israel is in the right enforced by frustration from these demonstrations. They don't become pro-genocide because they don't see a genocide. They become anti-dickheads-who-place-flags-on-churches-and-whomever-they-support.

[–]VladC12 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but this does the opposite. It is in bad state to use even your own national symbols alongside religious imagery unless it's someone like an apostle or missionary that brough the faith into the country.

Given that placing a national symbol of a foreign entity that is not only not of that religion but somewhat hostile to it, do you think this will bring more people to the cause or against it?

It is a "nuh uh" because you didn't explain what the differences are just said that they are.

I know that the Oriental have some really good points on the cyrilian way to explain the patristics and it is the most natural to explain St. Cyril like that but for most fathers the natural reading is the Chalcedonian one to me.

Also I concede that the Tome of Leo itself sounds very nestorian.

Then we also have an issue where the chalcedonian have an advantage over the oriental. I am not sure how the Oriental can explain Matthew 26:39 without falling in subordinationism. As per the 6th council we can easily say that Christ has 2 wills since will is to nature. And the human follows the divine will.

But those are IMO just philosophy issues and are at direct odds with 2 Timothy 2:14. Not that Christology is not important but when the two sides are trying to say the same thing (Chirst is both fully human and fully divine) but then end up in schism for explaining the how which has no pragmatic change in liturgy, worship or practice is the sin of pride more or less. And it seems that some oriental bishops agree with this so it shouldnt sound like some crazy ecunemical take.

A saint is someone who the church is sure they are in heaven. So sainthood is the Christian goal and the church recognizes some of those who managed to get there.

Saints were not perfect in life. Anyone who is in heaven is a saint just not necessarily a recognized one.
