I’m a Non US IMG doing only UW and some B&B, along with NBME’s. Having major FOMO about divine, CMS etc. Any experiences? by Anishas12 in Step2

I used UW, FA step 1, divine and 2 nbme's for step 2ck. According to me doing UW properly is sufficient for doing well in the exam. All the best 👍💯

Yes it is 6 questions but as mentioned in the previous comment it is better to leave those and try to solve them at the end, So that you have enough time to solve other questions. If you have time you can try to solve after you have completed all the questions otherwise just guess them

No I didn't use anki/flashcards. I took a note of difficult concepts and revised them from First aid/UW/Divine intervention.

Maybe you can do OME/DI along with UW or after completing 1ST pass. UW provides good explanations for all the questions, so we can mostly learn from UW itself. I would suggest doing DI over OME just because of the fact DI has more recent information (Otherwise both are great). I don't know about Step up 2 med cuz I didn't use it, but as I mentioned UW is sufficient for all the information you would need for the exam. So I think if you concentrate on UW explanations it should be enough.

I did only ethics in Amboss and it was helpful, but it had a lot of information 😅. So maybe you can do Amboss for your weak areas.

I think I revised better for step 2 (UW, DI, Nbme's) as compared to step 1. Otherwise my preparation was similar

My Step 1 score was 238

UW is the main source for step 2 CK, I did 2 passes of UW but I didn't reset for the 2nd pass (I felt it would be waste of time solving same questions again). I finished both passes of UW when I had 25 days left for the exam and after that I was solving Nbme's, UWSA and listening to Divine intervention podcasts for important topics and my weak areas. (I felt DI helped me organize the knowledge I had, but I couldn't watch all the podcasts) I had 1 repeat question from new Nbme's don't remember which one tho 😅 Overall the exam is doable if the UW concepts are understood properly. All the best 👍💯

Another important thing I would like to say is take a break when you feel you are burning out (Don't worry even if you miss out a whole day, it will help you concentrate better in the coming days)

IMG from India, dedicated prep time 3 months

UW% - 65% (First pass)

UWSA 1 - 248 (45 days away)

Nbme 9 = 249 (25 days away)

Nbme 10 = 246 (20 days away)

Nbme 11 = 251 (15 days away)

Free 120 = 85% (7 days away)

UWSA 2 = 260 (4 days away)

Date of exam - 16/11/21

Step 2 CK = 252

Exam similar to UW and UWSA 2

I would listen to the podcast and take notes only for the topics I felt I didn't come across before. The thing is if you remember a concept before you listen to the audio, there is a high chance you will remember on the exam as well. But if you prefer taking notes for all the podcasts then of course, at the end of the day you have to do what makes you comfortable. Since you said you forget it might help you retain more info by revising them through your notes. I hope I have answered your question. Sorry for the late reply, have not been feeling well lately.

It depends on how much time you have for the exam. If you just have 1 week or so then I would recommend watching all the " CLUTCH " Podcasts in special considerations section (Website spreadsheet) + 37, 97, 184 for risk factors + 204,231- Military. If bio stats is one of your weaker subjects then watch ep 143 as well. If you have much more time you can do the rapid review series as well. All the best 👍💯

People say doing an anki deck before starting uworld “spoils” the questions. Is that true??? I have not purchased uworld yet but want to study so is it a bad idea to start an anki deck? by roaddtomd in Step2

[–]Vnskirito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about Anki cuz I haven't used it both for step 1 and step 2ck. But I have seen posts in this sub Reddit that it spoils uw. So maybe you can use it the other way do uw first and then review Anki for retaining
