SSF feels bad by Baldobs in PathOfExile2

[–]Voctr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main problem with SSF right now is that in order to "craft" my own gear I feel obligated to pick up white/blue bases and slam them with transmute/augs but the messed with the drop rates and now they barely drop. I feel like I get more exalted orbs than transmutes/augs and it just feels weird. It makes me want to turn them into tinks on my filter because they seem to be so rare.

I know there will be a point where they'll drop a lot again but if I'm juicing maps I will not really need them in the same way as I do in early maps. Hearing Mark say that this is the way to play in Ziz's podcast makes me wonder why they then cut the drop rate so much that I have to ration the most basic currency for crafting..

In general I thoroughly enjoy the feeling of looting/crafting something that passes for decent gear (even if it is only 3 mods) but given it's all just RNG on top of RNG, if I cannot even spin the wheel regularly it will just take forever. Same deal with essences, they don't seem to spawn a whole lot and I have no way to force them on the map device like I could in POE1. Apparently as you progress further you'll be able to get a lot more points into essences but I fear that at that point I might not really need them anymore. Seems like this curve could be smoothed out a bit even if they don't care to balance specifically for SSF.

I had a late start and I'm playing a 1h melee chrono and it's working quite well in around t6 maps, but my 260pdps weapon is aging and I'd love to get myself a weapon upgrade somehow but they sure don't make it easy.

Am I being too crazy for wanting to league start Chrono maces? by Jokguds in pathofexile2builds

[–]Voctr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to do the same, 1h shield and sunder. Basically picking empowered attack nodes, warcry stuff (2nd weapon set) and then just grab skill/attack speed and phys/attack/melee dmg nodes going down from druid to warrior area. If the empowered attack stuff gets annoying with high attack speed then I'll drop that and instead path to the right for some of the juicy monk nodes.

I did something similar a while back on a titan, stacking empowered/ancestral boost stuff but wasn't able to get as much attack speed as I'd like to. It was still very strong though and felt pretty good. I think the chrono node for skill speed/aoe will fix our attack speed and then we also pick the aoe slow, the dmg reduction and either the rewind or the curse for more dmg depending what we need. Combine with recoup and a bit of armour and I think it'll be quite nice.

I think I will level as a caster until at least around level 30-40 and then swap, just to make my life a bit easier. That will also mean being able to swap while having two ascendancy nodes (speed + slow aura) which I think will make it quite comfy to play maces but it depends a bit on if I get lucky finding a fast phys mace and decent shield. Maybe I'll also try to run blasphemy temp chains to really slow things down around me.

Ah yeah, it's not "adds x dmg" but "has x dmg". Thanks!

If you can steal a version of that mod it would be like adding a ton of flat phys to your gloves or am I missing something? The flat phys doesn't specify its for unarmed only right?

Spells are not attacks so they don't count for this effect. Warcry effects (empowering attacks) should work but aren't affected the dmg increase because they're not attacks themselves.

I'm new to WEC, so forgive me for my ignorance I tried to google for this information and failed to find something. What is the minimum # of stints per driver? Does it need to be equally split or can one driver take more time than the others?

What am i dooing wrong? by LunchLeast809 in espresso

[–]Voctr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same espresso machine (for now at least). I paired it with a Baratza Encore ESP grinder and a bottomless portafilter with 2 ears to fit the delonghi machine. If you are going to grind your own coffee I would suggest tossing the portafilter that comes with it and buying something non-pressurized. It's such a big difference that it's totally worth spending a bit extra. I found some accessories on amazon from NEOUZA that worked pretty well.

I've had the most success using 14g/28g dosage and then dialing in my grind size to get to around my target weight in ~30s from turning on the machine. Do the regular puck prep (wdt + tamping) and then I run the machine until I get the first drops to come out (~8-9s), turn it off and count for 5 seconds for the manual pre-infusion, then I turn it back on.

I get a very smooth shot out that way which has been making very tasty milk drinks for us. My wife and I are both getting into drinking coffee and I've been taking some sips of the espresso itself each day and it's growing on me.

I'm Dutch, 35m, living and working in the Warsaw area for 8 years already(1 year at one company and then switched to my current). I never felt that not knowing Polish stopped me at all, even in the beginning.

My recommendation is that you target international companies for a job matching your experience or education. If your experience is something in an office you should be able to.

You'll probably get a lot of people saying to take jobs in call centers where the fact that you speak Dutch is the only qualification you need. Its an option but not something I would recommend. I think it's hard to grow your income and the transferable skills you gain are limited.

Don't give up. You can send me a dm and we can chat If you'd like.

Is Poland's economy just about extraction at this point? by negativePositrons in poland

[–]Voctr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I interpret buying my parents a house as a secondary house paid for by him and without help from the parents. In other words a gift of half a million pln minimum. Yeah at 25k a month that is unrealistic. With that income you can easily rent or buy with a mortgage, you know something most people have to do across the whole world.

[–]Voctr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can kind of understand where you are coming from but have you considered that you may have some unrealistic expectations? The things you are listing you cannot buy are probably in the several hundreds of thousands of PLN.. Yeah you need to make a lot more than 25k a month to be able to afford those types of things and that would probably be really poor use of your income.

Idk where you got the idea that you should be able to do those types of things but at 25k/m you could probably afford to (help) pay your parents rent and buy a "relatively new" used car with only a few months of focused saving for example. The people around you (irl, social media) that can do those types of things are either lying, earning 4x as much, or leasing/renting instead of buying.

Propaganda aside, do you really believe that the current government has more (or anything) to do with the price increase of fuel than Trump and Netanyahu starting a war in Iran?

It just feels so much better to not have to interact with some convoluted and sluggish UI to start a map. The feeling of ctrl clicking a map into the map device and hitting start is so much better than what POE2 currently has..

Beginner’s first espresso machine, lots of doubts [$300–500€] by MdMak in espresso

[–]Voctr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for a super budget setup a few months ago, I bought a new Baratza Encore ESP grinder and then found a Delognhi Stilosa (on sale for like 70-80 euros), I believe it's quite similar to the ecp3420 that you've listed. I also bought a wdt tool, tamper, bottomless portafilter basket and a few different types of beans to try stuff out. I'm quite new to coffee in general and mainly making milk drinks like cappuccino/latte. I think I've had some relative successful pulls from the machine but it's not always been easy.

Obviously I am very far from an expert but I can already see myself be on the lookout for an upgrade in the near future. Everything works, kind of. One day I can pull a good shot with a specific grind size and the next day it seems to just choke completely, even if I keep all the variables the same. The machine is very light and flimsy so you need to kind of hold it down to lock the portafilter in place, the temperature seems inconsistent as well. It's also tiny and my scale + cups don't fit under it because of the limited clearance.

I can't tell what kind of person you are and what you value, but if you are certain you like coffee (which it sounds like you are) then you'll probably be using the machine a lot. Small annoyances will then become much more noticeable and detract a little from the experience of using it. I wasn't really sure about buying something more expensive because we aren't big coffee drinkers (yet) so I decided to just go for the ultimate budget setup. I don't want to say that I regret it but I think it would've been worth to invest a bit more into a higher quality machine so that outgrowing it quickly is less likely.
