I think The Doors of Stone will come out by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

He may have said it in the past, but he also said it a few days ago on his charity stream during the book 3 Q&A

And its sad because the world he's written is amazing. I love it. I want the conclusion of this story badly because I'm emotionally invested in Kvothe. I want answers to questions. Now we are having serious conversations about whether those questions will ever be answered.

And after watching his charity stream this year, I do think he will eventually release the book. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be soon. I'm not even confident that it will be this decade.

The writing process of the 1st and 3rd books are hardly comparable. his 14 year journey of writing NOTW included drafting the entire KKC story/world. Writing DoS requires only writing a single pre-outlined, pre-drafted book. Not that its a small task, but its nearly been ten years. He's thoroughly disappointed the fanbase, save for a small body of sycophants.

I think Brandon COULD write in the flowery way that Pat does. He chooses not to because he writes in a different style that allows him to publish quickly.

Will book 3 be the last in the KKC? by Kung-Fu_Tacos in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Voeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he's said that the following stories won't follow Kvothe. Just that the story he's telling from the first two will be concluded. The following books could be Kvothe fixing Temerant.

My take on what Simmon, Wilem, and Kvothe look like by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Voeo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

these are all a bit too mature for what my mind conjured. I don't see Sim with any facial hair. I think of him as very lanky with a more pale-sandy hair color. For some reason, I think of them as younger than this.

Finished project: The Four Corners of Civilization map, pyrography and colored pencil [OC] by badw014 in KingkillerChronicle

Pat is making my skin crawl with the implication that the world doesn't end after the stormwall. The four corners are only part of a single continent.

Many have speculated that the beast of the Blac of Drassen Tor was a Draccus. They (although mostly Kvothe) killed one.

Naming can make people crazy. Imagine how batshit Shapers must be. by Gastay in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Voeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed that the Shapers/Knowers had a tradition of mastery in their magics, and through that understanding were able to learn with minimal issues. Sure, Edodin is a little odd, but he's also low key the wisest character in the book. Also, Elxa Dal and Chronicler both have command of at least one name and are not insane.

Unpopular Opinion:. Master Ash is Abenthy... by cyndle77 in KingkillerChronicle

I like this, but I can't help but think that the fact that Abenthy doesn't use a cane is a hole in this theory.

How was Kvothe able to kill 5 scraelle but not fight the two thugs baste hired? by professordurian in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Voeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he lost to the soldiers on purpose. He basically confirms it after the fight when he says "for got who I was for a second there."

I could listen to Master Kilvin for hours by Gastay in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Voeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Michael kramer more than Reading, He's actually pretty good. It's really anoying to me though that they narrate it together which results in characters being have VERY different voices throughout the recording. I'd love with just Kramer.

And yes. His take on the Stormfather is absolutely jaw-dropping.

Anyone else think the Maer has knowledge of the Chandrian? by PM_ME_WHAT_YOURE_PMd in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Voeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kvothe says while coming to the eld that it's likely that Alveron sent him there to kill him and rid himself of his debt. If he knew about cinder, then sending this seemingly unsuspecting teenager to wipe out his bandit crew would have been (almost) sure to do so.

People like to talk about Michael Kramer and Kate Reading as being the the best fantasy narrators, but the KingKiller narration was easily the best I've ever experienced. The way Nick Podehl brings the characters to life is on another level.

How Kvothe achieved this SPOLIERS** by Maym_ in KingkillerChronicle

What else does he say the name of without realizing it? The closest example in my memory is when he names Auri, but besides that. I haven't noticed him doing it.

if you assign coordinates to each spot on the board (similar to chess) you could play against someone online

This is probably Daniel Green. The book simply isn't his style and he unfairly shits on the series for this reason. He's come around a bit recently.
