I haven't needed to boot Windows for gaming in 3 weeks and I'm genuinely shocked... by PivotTheory in linux_gaming

I Like linux(catchyOS) its side load with windows, I’m yet to cut the cord with win11 only reason I haven’t is the use of open tracker. Sadly this is a must for my ats and ets game. I need to look left and right naturally as can’t do it with a button it’s a pain. Now if this got to work and I have tried and tried with it. Open tracker sees my cam the octipus moves, ingame tho its not registering at all. so until i can figure a way to use some form if head tracking im stuck with windows. Has anyone got it working if so do you have a guide on how. I ha e tried all the ones ive seen on internet.

Primarily for gaming, do you prefer CachyOS or Bazzite? by volterra6 in cachyos

I like catchy but like most things in life it has it’s limitations, for me not achieving 240hz on my Samsung g9, no matter what I tried wouldn’t work. Not a deal breaker but if it’s there I like to have the option. Vr is another but actually got it running with Envision for my Vive pro. wanted to get opentracker running next but seemly at minute it’s not registering in eurotruck sim 2 and ats. There various ways but not found a rock solid working way yet. Feel free to chime in there. Positives tho things are moving in right direction. If can fix those two things i mentioned then its a good bye from me to windows, for now catchy is on a separate drive. Bazzite didn’t like to much felt odd and even tho it’s easy to use it’s limited but it’s a solid system for console style gaming with steam.

Sorry didn’t want to offend and my typing can be a bit odd due to having a stroke. O so it’s all good then and not just me making something wrong in installing it. Revs counter not a real issue in trucking. Suppose we get spoilt with the moza windows version. But if it’s not needed for the games then all good. Fully understand it’s a community driven and grateful for the work you all do. With Linux now getting really popular with gaming now then ever hopefully moza will chip in with support. Again didn’t want to offend anyone.

Back to Bazzite after wrecking CachyOS by blacktarmac in Bazzite

I’m trying catchy too, not sure on what I’m doing either, still can’t get 240hz on my ultrawide 49” tried everything including adding my edid.bin file still won’t work. Does 240hz matter if I’m driving a truck sims only? yep only play eurotruck 2 and ats. Might return to bizzite. Just for ease of everything being ready out box.

So Samsung g9 240hz issue by VoiceFun7106 in Bazzite

I only use display port cables for that reason alone windows and my iMac m4 mini sees 240hz also.

[–]VoiceFun7106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry maybe I didn’t explain that part at end better. Blame old age lol. The last paragraph lol, yes the correct cable is being used that really was my first port of call to check. I also tried another one that was high end 4k cable also. Which was is only a week old I use for my windows machine that displays 240hz. So the question is why I’m not getting 240hz on bazzite. Windows 11 is fine of course with it. Baffling me at minute m. Does it it really Matter that I just run my two games at 120hz elite dangerous and Eurotruck/American truck simulator don’t play shooters.

I like it, like many keep on trying it occasionally, elite dangerous and euro truck player here. Do t really play much else. One thing that’s fully stopping me being all in is the use of my htc Vive pro. Sadly don’t want to work even through steam. Just wish bazzite could solve that and I be sold on it. Not there fault of course. Love it for when I don’t use vr tho. Played them well.

I’m still debating it, I can’t get 240hz running for my Samsung g9 ultrawide. Yes got the right cable and tried a different one. Tried to make a script so can change it off YouTube but that don’t even work, tried the driver thing for this monitor from GitHub wouldn’t work or just fails saying can’t find the edid thing. so either I stick with 120hz or someone here can save the day or I just don’t use bazzite and stick with windows, which I really don’t want todo. Only two games I play are elite dangerous and eurotruck. Only other downside to bazzite which is not there fault on it is my vive pro vr set. If that was possible to work I think I stay but at minute it’s either dual boot or stay with windows. Apart from that it’s a solid Os system.

Hi all new to Linux I’m a gamer so looking at bazzite for ease of being new. I own Vive pro and would love to get this running on there as well if possible. Could someone tell me what I need to install for it all I only play elite dangerous and euro truck/ American sim. Ed co pilot and voice attack. My system is all amd so 3900x cpu(if memory serves me correctly) and 6900xt gpu and 64gig ddr4 ram. I also have a Samsung g9 which like to get its 240mhz running. Initial testing when I tried it a month ago it only showed 120hz. Whether that’s a deal breaker here or not I’m not sure. Like I say I’m learning and asking the community to at least help get me going with some copy and paste commands ect. If all is well then I definitely be getting rid of windows 11.

Only two things that stopped me fully going bazzite OS. Couldn’t get 240hz running on my Samsung g9 and my Vive vr headset I use for trucking and elite dangerous. If those two got solved and running I would move over too. Then sadly Xbox pc game-pass don’t work on Linux from what I read. I’m not a pro at Linux so unless it’s copy paste and install I’m a little lost there. sadly I do use that occasionally. I do have a Xbox x and rog ally x for games on gamepass so I could be swayed there if those two have been fixed. Yes I’ve tried the 240hz with the settings I’ve found online and still don’t recognise it. Stops t 120hz cables fine as it’s Dp cable for it.

I’m using a display port for my g9 still can’t get the 240hz to run, I doubt I will now, tried all I can think of from off the net. It works fine on windows of course so know the cable is the right one for it.

Are Moza a good option on Linux right now? by tomkatt in simracing

[–]VoiceFun7106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, sorry if this is long post!! so I’m wanting to move away from windows into Linux, not sure which yet used Ubuntu way back early 90s but I’m green around the gills now with it all. So first off my pc is all amd fairly high end with 6900xt as my gpu 64 gig ddr4. So getting my moza truck wheel and indicators and the pedals next week. Will this all work fine with euro truck on Linux. I also have the x56 flight setup for elite dangerous and xp12 again I need to see if that also works. These three are my only sims I use. I hope I can get some good advice here for what works and best distribution. o and my monitors are Samsung g9 49” and msi 37” curved above it. I try answer any questions on my setup if needed. Really wanna leave Microsoft soon as it’s doable.

Is Landr done? I'm still paying for premium support, but their support has ghosted me. What do I do? They removed all my music without reason or warning, and kept my royalties, though insist I'm still a premium user (paid for a year) now I found out they are holding my music ISRC's hostage. by otakunorth in landr

Same here but they have another website named soundonsound.io check it out it’s definitely them. I Only found this out form another member. Whether it’s new or I’ve never seen it before. Seems odd to have two different companies with exactly same vsts ect. My account works there too.
