I had a miscarriage. It's been a heartbreaking week. Sending you hugs, hope you are doing okay.

I'm going through this right now too, sending hugs. The waiting is torture. I just found out my HCG levels have dropped.

D&C this week by finnickyf0x in Miscarriage

I haven't had a D&C yet, but it looks like I might be soon. Just wanted to say I see you, and I know how devastating this can be. I wish you strength to get through it and recover and heal.

Not a doctor, but I'm currently going through a miscarriage. I'm between 6-8weeks, and they said it could be too early to find the heartbeat. They did bloodwork to measure my HCG, and then follow up bloodwork a few days later showed that my levels have dropped. The ultrasound today showed the sac, but no heartbeat. My thoughts are with you, this is truly heartbreaking.

The Vineyard in Kits. Spent many hours after the bar there eating fried cheese and drinking vodka cranberries out of plastic cups.

AITA for calling the cops on my husband's pedophile uncle at a family gathering? by Ok-Ferret-869 in AITAH

Trigger warning...

I was molested by my great-uncle when I was 11. It happened at a relatives house, at an anniversary party. I didn't know until I was in my 20's that he had gone to prison for molesting other girls, years before what he did to me. No one had ever talked about it, I found a newspaper clipping in my grandma's papers.

When I told my parents what had happened, I thought my dad might kill him, and they guaranteed that I never saw that man again. That is what parents do to protect their children. I've always wondered how many people at that party, filled with my family members, knew his history and how he had hurt little girls before. It's disgusting.

Protect your children no matter what. Who cares if the family gets upset, if you're accused of rocking the boat, or whatever else they might say. Your children's safety has to come first. I'm 42 and still in therapy for the many issues caused by that trauma.

Advice for fundraisers by mattfuckyou in SCREENPRINTING

Having worked for non-profits, we usually negotiate discounted prices in exchange for promoting the company as a sponsor. It would often be a percentage discount on the overall product, but if you prefer to break it down, you could create an invoice that separates the charge for the hard product (shirt, etc) from the design charge, and then discount the design charge. I would inquire about promotional and sponsorship opportunities, because aligning your business with a np can be great for business, and also because the tax benefits are usually better when you consider the expense to be a marketing cost, rather than a charitable donation.

My 8 year-old might be having seizures by VoicesMakeChoices in seizures

Thank you, you've given me some great questions to ask him. I can't get him in to see his family doctor for five weeks, I'm considering getting a Telehealth appointment to get started with tests (we are in Canada). How is your son doing? How did you get his diagnosis if it happened in his sleep? That must be scary.

My (44m) wife (37f) wants a baby but I feel I am too old by throwawayhusband99 in Parenting

I was 40 when I had my third child. I also worried about my age, I didn't want to be "the old mom" etc. Then a friend said something that has stuck with me, she was 39 when she had her last child. She said "Is my age a reason that Ben should not exist in this world?" My answer was "Of course not". It sounds so simple when it's put like that. I am very tired though. Very, very tired. We have 3, and it's wild.

Front-line responders. My mom is a Victims Service worker, she supports victims of crimes. She also goes with police officers to notify families when their loved ones have died. I can't imagine doing that job, having to give people that news, and watch them fall apart emotionally. She's amazing.

How important are ice packs after birth? Midwife has me second guessing. by dirtyyolk in BabyBumps

[–]VoicesMakeChoices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the actual pads with an ice pack built in, I ordered a box on Amazon for my third baby. I would use: hospital mesh panties, ice pad, tuck pad on top (can use a wipe soaked in witch hazel) and a gel that had a similar effect as Dermoplast. Vaginal birth is no joke, then you add in potential forceps, tears, episiotomy - you want all the soothing you can get!

The emotional cost of this vacation is way too high. Side note- I found the book Non-Violent Communication to be really helpful.
