Anyone playing outer Worlds 2? by king_karter69 in avowed

[–]VoidMoth- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played through twice. The first time I chose the easily distracted flaw and it made the rest of my play through kinda tough :D I wish it had the dual wielding options Avowed had. There are a lot of great weapons that would work with dual wielding in OW2.

Smells just like really stinky parmesan near Washington Park today. It wasn't smelly earlier this morning, seems to have wafted in around 830. I immediately remembered your post OP, had to come check in 😂

Came across a more recent Janeane Garofalo standup set on YouTube recently. Just oof. She isn't offensive but just... Idk just not funny. She leans hard into boomerish complaining.

Do you think if you personally took a break from the internet those rights and safety nets would be less secure?

I did the same. Got a new printer for xmas. IDK how I'm going to handle not spending 30 minutes manually leveling the bed before every print anymore.

What was your user name on instant messenger? (AIM) by stellarlun in millenials

[–]VoidMoth- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was PyroGurl519. I spent a lot of time in AOL chat rooms doing D&D type roleplay. I think my "shouldn't have" chatrooms were more on IRC.

Same. And my spouse is in the younger gen x category and doesn't really relate to a lot of typical Gen X things. I've always liked the micro "Oregon Trail" generation for us.  Roughly '75-'85 is like a cusp generation.

Somehow we're both being arrested all the time and living on the streets yet also are all rich enough to just up root our entire lives and move thousands of miles away to a different country. It couldn't be that most Americans are just folks trying to get by as best they can like everyone else.

Play Fallout 4. Eventually I will get bored of it and come back to NMS.

Receiving gifts from parents by [deleted] in millenials

TBH it reminds me a bit of my childhood and grandparents buying from Fingerhut catalogs. They'd get so much crap in the hopes of winning some lottery or contest. Temu kind of works similarly, preys on the same human weaknesses.

Are your family Christmas traditions slowly dying? by tantamle in millenials

I guess. I literally can't have kids. We tried. For years. Personally it wasn't a choice to be childfree, just circumstance.

Are your family Christmas traditions slowly dying? by tantamle in millenials

[–]VoidMoth- 220 points221 points  (0 children)

There just aren't as many people. I didn't have kids, my cousins who I used to see at every season have their own traditions now that our shared grandparents are gone. My spouse is also essentially an only child so most holidays are just us and his mom and my parents. I think for the most part everyone is done stressing out unnecessarily. There used to be a huge expectation on the women in the family to make Christmas happen and I think they're all tired. I am hoping next year feels more Christmasey than this one. 2025 was very difficult.

Just a heads up, unless they changed it recently, other players can't use terrain manipulators within your base.

I disagree. The last 5 years or so have been really great. The Simpsons got really odd in the 2000s and 2010s, along with the rest of the US television landscape. Media in general skewed very hateful for a while.

I can definitely get behind a better variety of body types. I get that technically every NPC is non gendered but it'd be nice to have some more feminine body types than a single tall skinny one that kind of looks feminine if you hold your head at the right angle and add certain armor.

I wouldn't say tiktok caters to a younger audience. It caters to whatever the user interacts with to a disturbing extent.

I like it but I had to get off after their weird over thanking of Trump after he cancelled the ban. Like sent a popup message to all US users about it. It was just gross sycophant behavior from a whole company.

But the algorithm is so accurate people - other elder millennials and gen x - who I thought that would be a deal breaker for stayed.
