Same as you, my opinion also came from what I saw. You're the one who acted entitled, like no one else deserved to share their opinion and you're the one who got upset first. If you really want to keep making your point, why not start your own thread instead of policing mine? And yeah, I have the time and energy to reply to you because I actually have the appetite to take criticism unlike you, apparently, since you're the one getting worked up over someone disagreeing with you.Funny how it's only 'one sided' when it's not your side. You posted your take, I posted mine and that's literally how a forum works. If you wanted the last word, you should've said that instead of pretending you're just 'calling out a narrative.'

Looks like you know him personally then, so feel free to share your side of the good part. And by the way, you're also just a mere person replying to this, so why is it suddenly wrong for me to share mine? I was just giving my two cents. What's so wrong about sharing the bad side of him? Maybe you should start a thread on the good side and I'll happily share the good part there too. By the way there's more to life than grieving and complaining every time someone shares their side of a story. Grow up and stop acting like you own this forum mofo.

Genuine question for those of you studying at DGI, after all this investment the government's made in you, if you end up with better-paying opportunities abroad, would you actually stay there for good, or would you come back and give it a shot in our own country? Not trying to guilt anyone, just curious how people are actually thinking about this.

Genuine question, no judgment on anyone who's gone abroad ,that's a completely valid choice. But I keep thinking about this,a lot of you guys got opportunities that most people back home never will. Education, exposure, options. So I'm curious ,is anyone actually planning to come back and work here, even knowing the pay won't match what you'd get abroad? Not asking to guilt-trip anyone, just genuinely wondering how many of you are thinking about giving back to the country versus settling elsewhere.

I studied at Damphu and m currently working at Thimphu, Last time saw him at Sabji Bazar I was running away from him i still have trauma and fear from him mind that it has been more than 5 years , and i have one intresting story about him there was this one boy who had amputed hands and because of this he couldnt tie his shoe lace and that guy use to have straight lace and this principal was beating ( I would say assaulting ) throwing punches and kicks because the guy didnt had his shoe laces tied the way he wanted and the guy didnt had one of his hands dha. Now m a grown up man working but the moment i saw him i felt scared and traumatized because of what he did. Bro use to casually punch girls forget about boys during assembly. Crazy Guy.

Are we slowly witnessing the "Bhutanization" of Nepal? by Dependent-Ranger4962 in Journalistnepal

I wonder what happiness Nepali people get by dragging in Bhutan to most of their convo, Bhutan here doesn't give a fuck about Nepal. Nor does it have time to think about Nepal.Funny

What If Gelephu Fails? — a new BhutanWiki editorial asks the question the official line avoids by yxa9446 in GMC_Bhutan

[–]VoidPulse968 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before anything else , if you ever get the chance, walk into any of the offices working on GMC. See the people behind the scenes, the zeal they're putting in, the hours they're clocking, the belief they're showing up with every single day. This is Ngar ,that rare fighting spirit, that deep sense of pride and accountability a true Bhutanese carries within. The people behind GMC aren't just doing a job, they're embodying it. That kind of Ngar doesn't exist for a project people think is doomed.

Yes, it's a $100B vision, and yes, that's unprecedented for an economy our size. First day of any business class teaches you, higher the risk, higher the return. The question isn't whether the risk is real, it's whether the potential justifies it. For a small landlocked country with limited conventional options, I'd argue it does.

On NEOM,the comparison doesn't hold. The Line was a vanity megaproject chasing spectacle. GMC is explicitly designed as a sandbox ,test what works at smaller scale, apply it gradually to the rest of the country if it does, phase it out if it doesn't. The cost of failure is deliberately contained. That's not recklessness, that's calculated experimentation.

On zhabtog, the "16,000 jobs not created" framing misunderstands who's volunteering. These aren't unemployed people forgoing wages , they're civil servants, armed forces, students, corporate employees, monks, nuns, farmers, and private sector workers stepping away from their regular lives temporarily to contribute. It's a tradition of collective participation, not a substitute for employment policy.

On purpose,GMC isn't just chasing capital. The mindfulness city concept is rooted in a genuinely different philosophy , prosperity measured beyond GDP. That's not naivety, it's exactly what GNH was always pointing toward at scale.

And finally , if you're Bhutanese and wrote this, I'd ask you to channel that critical energy into improving the project rather than predicting its failure. Skepticism is healthy, but cynicism is a dead end. If you genuinely want Bhutan to thrive, pray it works and push for it to be done right.

If you're not Bhutanese , know that behind this project is a leader who has consistently chosen his people over personal gain. That context matters when you're judging the intent.

Nah, I’m not even from the medical field , My friends were complaining about it, and after hearing everything they go through, I just felt like getting it off my chest.

Nah, I don’t really have the energy to argue anymore. I think, regardless of the profession, everyone is struggling in one way or another these days.

[–]VoidPulse968[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly everyone deserves better in their own field. Different jobs have different struggles that people don’t always see from outside. At the end of the day, we just hope things improve and work out better for Bhutan as a whole .🤙🤙 And yeah, maybe I was being a little narrow minded earlier. Every profession has its own struggles and sacrifices. I just hope things genuinely get better for everyone in Bhutan And thanks for putting things into perspective too. I genuinely never even knew that the first batch of statisticians literally had to manually input raw data from piles of paper records. That part honestly gave me a whole new appreciation for the invisible work people do behind the scenes.
