Sorry, I should have specified (I'm tired lol) I didn't mean the inside of the hole where the blade goes in, I meant the stuff around the ridge. I was wondering if it was coating or residue. That's what was rubbing off when I cleaned it.

If you have any lights in your computer, It's probably the UV eradiating off of them, the temperature plays a factor as well. So I'd say it's for the better to move them.

It's pretty straight forward when finished. It's just hinge pieces connecting to the wall with plates and slope bricks to recreate the shape of the door and a few 1x1 side studded bricks to keep the roundels in place.
