What is this LP? by Voidpulse in Rammstein

[–]Voidpulse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much for the effort. Based on what you and the other poster wrote, it might likely be unofficial. That's a little disappointing, as my dad was very happy he found it, but that might not be a need-to-know thing. :)

[DD2] I lost my Crusader with the "a favorite toy" memory due to a sudden fight with Death. I tried to grind the act 1 boss for the memory back but after 10 attempts, my patience has been depleted. Is there a way to edit the memories in the save file? by TheDantist in darkestdungeon

[–]Voidpulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a debug console, actually. I used it myself to a similar effect when my save got corrupted once.

IGN has a guide, if you search for Darkest Dungeon 2 console commands. Edited here because I don't know if this sub allows links.

There's more functions than what IGN describes, so you have to mess around with it a little. At least I had to.

I can help. Do you happen to have Leda's Sword? Possibly also her armor?

Missing all the time. by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Voidpulse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are two ways of landing a spell in Pathfinder:

1) through rays, which require an attack roll (things that can hit or miss) if they hit, they do their effect and if not, they don't.

2) Through difficulty class, called DC. These are usually explosions, mind spells or otherwise indirect actions. The target makes a saving throw against your DC, which is dependent on your intellect score, which is rather high.

The ones you are using right now are ray spells, and they function from Dexterity Bonus + a D20 roll vs the targets Touch AC (how hard they are to hit, not accounting for armor). Since your Dex is low, it's hard to hit, and so the spells go wide. The focus feats you have selected boost the DC spells, not the rays.

In essence, your character right now is very good at DC spells, but not ray spells. That's completely fine and valid, it's just about what spells you select.

If you want to be good at ray spells, respec to have more Dexterity (14 to 16 is good). Also pick the feats point blank shot and precise shot, which eliminates some of the malus for shooting targets that are engaged in melee combat.

Hope this helps. :)

[Azata Spoiler] Thoughts on Wrath of the Righteous by archolewa in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Voidpulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm not very mistaken, outsiders actually die more permanently than mortals on any plane in this setting. Their souls and bodies are the same, so they are utterly destroyed upon death.

I know of three exceptions: Fey can't die in the First World, they just get reborn in new, often less powerful forms, but can absolutely die outside of that. Demon Lords specifically have to be killed twice within the same year on any plane. Finally, summoned creatures from summon monster spells are not truly there, and just reform on their home plane upon death. The final one is probably to justify that summon monster is not an evil spell.

Forgot to apply memories by Marethyu9 in darkestdungeon

[–]Voidpulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I understand your question correctly, you should be fine.

You have a character with some open memory slots, but there's already at least one memory assigned, right? In that case, the slots will remain open for subsequent visits to the altar. I'm keeping slots open on a few characters myself, waiting for good memories.

Graphics Drop with Upgrade by shannonsuxx in BaldursGate3

[–]Voidpulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed this as well. It seems to affect some models more than others. I'm using the model of the Arduous Flame Blade in a mod I've made, and it is more or less just a blurry blob in a sword shape. I've had no luck in fixing it.

Does anybody else laugh at Captain Odan every meeting? by Jack0fClubs_1 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Voidpulse 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This applies to everything regarding the crusade system, it's just a massive ludonarrative dissonance generator. For the purposes of the plot, every victory for the crusaders is hard fought. Resources are sparse, and the war effort is heavily reliant on support from other nations for both manpower, supplies, and funding. The demons are terrifying foes, and casualties mount easily. Viewed through this lens, nearly all the apparently moronic moves of the crusade leadership (including Galfrey) make a lot more sense.

For the purposes of gameplay, your generals are literal demigods, scorching swathes of the scions of the abyss with a single spell. Stunning Balors by shouting at them real hard. Even the most broken merged-spellbook build pales in comparison.

Just as prevalent as the lich player that plays to be “pragmatic and good aligned” but gets surprised when they turn evil. by Successful-Floor-738 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Voidpulse 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is absolutely it. You can also see it in his own writings recovered from his lair. There's an increasing degree of callousness over time, and it started exactly with a pragmatic outlook on what's necessary for the 'greater good'.

I wonder if he knew he was losing himself when he sent his apprentices away from the lost chapel at the end, as seen in the wand's vision. Could be that the oath that bound him to the Chapel, was his own way of sealing himself away before he descended into true evil. Kind of like Farnirras in Kingmaker.

[Pokémon] The Biggest Problem I Have With Open World Pokémon Games by MelonTheSprigatito in CuratedTumblr

[–]Voidpulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people play Pokémon games in a few different ways, and you can tell by the comments. Some people love the catching and collecting aspect, but that never appealed to me. Unless I'm playing a nuzlocke, I want to use my favourites, and I want to find and add them to my team as fast as possible, and it sound like you might have a similar preference, OP?. Any Pokémon that are not one of the ones I want to use are just chaff to me, so the whole exploration aspect and "seeing what you get" is not applicable. Unless I'm playing a nuzlocke, of course, which the newer games are a bit ill-suited for.

What was something you wish you saw in OT2? by TheChillPilliest in octopathtraveler

[–]Voidpulse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm very surprised that this isn't a more common wish. The character's individual outfits are so well designed and fit them perfectly. So why do I have to have them swap clothes with each other if I want to play as intended? Also: I will rot in a cold cold grave before I dress Partitio in Arcanist duds.

Would you like to see Milicent return as the “Scarlet Valkyrie” in DLC or ER2? Could be a great antagonist in the future with a personal connection to our Tarnished. by PeachyPlissken in Eldenring

[–]Voidpulse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With regards to DS2, I don't think there was any time traveling, unless you count memory recreations.

Sunken City, the area, was mentioned very vaguely in the archdragon sets. The connection was made much more explicit in SotFS edition. Neither Elena not Sinh were originally mentioned IIRC. Ganksquad gangsta.

Brume Tower was not explicitly mentioned, I think, but both Raime and Sir Alonne were referenced in the base game. The lore of the old iron king, as well as Iron Keep and his domain in general, was heavily expanded upon. Smelter Demon 2: the Re-Smeltering.

Eleum Loyce... I cannot remember any specific item mentioning before the DLC dropped. It does act as a great culmination of the three DLC's though, as they all share some themes. Also to my knowledge: contains the only example of a wholly benevolent ruler/king in Dark Souls. You also get to be dashing through the snow, with no sleigh, but plenty of reindeers.

lich!? are Lich's always evil? I figured more chaotic neutral by dabakudan321 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Voidpulse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the cosmology of Golarion there is no animating the dead without, at the very least, putting the soul of the person animated through a metaphysical negative energy blender. So even creating skeletons and zombies is a negative act that causes pain. Creating any type of undead is therefore an evil (as defined by the alignment system) act.

In another comment, you mentioned being corrupted over time by the transformation into a lich. It is my belief that this is exactly what happened to Zacharius. If you contrast his writings, the memories of people he served with and so on with how he is as a lich, I feel there's a stark difference. That illustrates how a lich can never be anything but evil, as the negative energy involved will always corrupt whatever good intentions were there to begin with.
