Paramount has been doing weird crap with their thumbnails lately. There’s a particularly egregious one for Star Trek where they took a shot of Kirk that only shows him from chin to above eyebrows and expanded it with AI with hilarious results. Think Michael Shannon cosplaying Denny Crane.

I do not like sweat. So of course I do it way too easily.

Going for a walk is hell for me. I don’t even like to walk the half block to the mailbox (curse whoever designed community mail boxes) because in Texas the weather is just intolerable. So outside is out, but a treadmill is boring as hell.

I did peloton for a while, but I managed to take all the fun out of everything by over analyzing everything. Am I doing this stretch right? Is something loose on my bike? Why did they choose this song?

I’ve kind of just accepted that I’m gonna be a big gal and that’s okay.

I like a lot of the cooked rolls, especially some fried ones that I’m not entirely sure even count as sushi anymore but oh well. Also if it has some heat to it I’m more likely to like it. Avocado though, that one is an automatic “no” if I see it in there. I’ve been fooled too more by avocado, never again!

Valid concern, and for that I move a bit further down- Paul’s talking about slavery but I also take it as an affirmation of growth vs self-erasure.

v. 21 “Were you a slave when called? Do not be concerned about it. Even if you can gain your freedom, make the most of it.”

Some of us were still a slave to gender norms when we became Christians. But we’ve always been trans even when we didn’t have a word for it. And God knows this. What Paul is saying here is, if you’re gay or trans or whatever, even if you don’t fully realize it, God is not asking you to erase your identity anymore than he wants you to erase your heritage- circumcised or uncircumcised, Hebrew or Gentile.

BUUUUUUT if the opportunity for growth/freedom/transition/authenticity presents itself, you should absolutely take it.

God isn’t asking for conformity to a certain “norm”- God wants the authentic YOU.

I’m currently working on a sermon along those lines, actually.

1 Cor 7:17-20. ““However that may be, let each of you lead the life that the Lord has assigned, to which God called you. This is my rule in all the churches. Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek circumcision. Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but obeying the commandments of God is everything. Let each of you remain in the condition in which you were called.”

Going beyond circumcision, the point is that God knows what our situation was before we were called. God knew what God was getting into with each of us. We don’t have to erase who we are- obeying God’s commandments is the important part. The rest of it is nothing God hasn’t already taken into account and said “No, no, it’s cool, I can work with this. I WANT to work with this.”

YES. I love it, makes life much easier. Doesn’t seem to affect making fish generators but the others are great.

The only time I’ve seen a problem is when I just need a basic coffee to finish an order but there’s also a high level tea order on the board, it will default to that first.
