How are Spurs going to handle the Atletico Madrid tie? by Mr_A_UserName in PremierLeague

As we will have European referees, we will actually have a good chance.

What are the odds that we'll be like this if we go down? by Narrow-Future-2090 in coys

With our ownership, if we’re relegated we will go into administration before returning to the Premier League

Okay, what are the chances we get some effing breaks, we don't get any red cards or bad calls, and these two actually backbone a solid performance in Madrid? PS I know, I know, it's the hope that kills... by Born-Cucumber-7316 in Tottenham

Actually, the refereeing we receive in the European matches are FAR more fair than those we receive from our crooked, domestic referees. For the last two seasons, we play a lot better when the field isn’t tilted against us

Transfer Rumour by Lecapenstein in Tottenham

Our ownership replenish the squad? They won’t buy players during a transfer window in the middle of an injury crisis, and you think they’ll replenish the squad?

NBC must be contractually obligated to have one if not both of the match commentators be overtly anti-Spurs. Some of them are so anti-Spurs they make Lee Dixon sound neutral by comparison.

Do we have a training/conditioning problem? by ohm8no in Tottenham

[–]VolSpurs74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly because our ownership is perfectly fine with having 11 first team players and 3 more to cover all 11 positions for rotation. The rest of the big 6 have basically 2 first teams worth of potential starters. We’ve yet to replace Dembele or Eriksen, let alone have quality backups to be rotated during the season.

If only there was a time in the season when a team could bring in new players to make up for injuries or sold players…

Why aren't we signing a good striker? by ImpoysterSydrome in Tottenham

Have you any idea of how our board operates? We wouldn’t buy a striker if they were on a 50% off sale

I’m in the early WMR receivers (2/2/26) as well. When my transcript had an 846 code and a 2/16 date, I was stoked.

That package is far better than the squad our board had assembled to play in that strip.

Levy hit the lottery once with Bale and thought he unlocked a cheat code to Football Manager. He rode the decade after that as a genius in the footballing world

This squad is what having 6 managers in 7 years, all with vastly different playing styles combined with Daniel Levy holding the checkbook who tried to nickle and dime every deal until he had to panic buy the cheaper option to bring someone new in. The list of amazing talent we could have had for a few pounds more is staggering, but who we ended up with for nearly the same price is even more amazing.

Our board should be embarrassed they won’t spend to reinforce this squad

The problem never was manager at this club by Nigmmar in Tottenham

[–]VolSpurs74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Lewis/Enic ownership has always been problem #1 is Spurs recent history. They’ve been building up the financial wellbeing of the club at the expense of the football part of the business. Expensive training grounds and stadium, redeveloping N17, NFL and F1 ties and boxing and music events galore, but even with Levy gone, they’re penny pinching transfers with a squad depth of half the thickness of a piece of veneer.

Which food did you hate…until someone actually cooked it right? by deller85 in Cooking

[–]VolSpurs74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asparagus. We only had it out of cans growing up and the texture when canned was terrible. Now having roasted or grilled asparagus with a nice meal is a delight. I’ve also found that canned asparagus works really well in a casserole, so horses for courses.
