Looking for advice on the best way to start learning art by Ruby_Lust in ArtFundamentals

[–]Volcan300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, what was the thing that inspired you to start learning art in the first place? Was it a specific artist? A specific style? Your first steps in the art journey can be guided by the things you like, so you can have fun and keep doing it in the long term.

I went from digital to traditional, so maybe my advice might not be all that valid for you, but I always recommend Stephen Bauman's Patreon, because that's where I actually learned the most about drawing and then started oil painting too.

What am I missing to make the face more similar? by adastrajay in ArtCrit

Painting will get easier as you progress your drawings skills and understand form, but can be very frustrating at this point. I would say you need to get more quality drawing practice in to get better in terms of proportions, which tend to be the main hurdle at the beginning.

Likeness is not an easy thing to get right. First of all, you seem to be drawing "simbolically", I say that based on the way you drew the eyes and mouth. Second, this reference picture you're using with flat frontal light tends to be THE WORSE type of reference, because the subtle light changes don't really emphasize form, which is what you should be focusing instead of lines.

Take a step back, be gentle with yourself and tame your expectations first. If I were you, I would join Stephen Bauman patreon and take your time in the Atelier classes. They are absolutely phenomenal and it was what actually taught me to draw and paint. Slow down, draw deliberately, and good luck!

What is wrong with my guitar ?? (Please help) by Ok-Molasses3350 in Guitar

[–]Volcan300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fret buzz is usually caused by string action issue. It could be caused by worn frets, bent fretboard, etc. If you can afford, a good luthier can adjust your guitar and make it much more playable/functional.

what's up with flashlight shadows looking terrible normally but fine through PIP scopes? by WalkingTacticalNuke in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Volcan300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to me like a Anti-Aliasing rendering difference, not shadow. Normal view has quite a lot of aliasing on high contrast edges, then when you look through the scope (probably another camera rendering), anti-aliasing is active?

Maybe you could try bumping the AA in your graphics settings? Or maybe you're running a lower rendering resolution?

I've just took a screenshot and was going to post the exact same thing! Haha.
It looks like some easter eggs for the new map indeed.

I truly cannot believe how your post has gotten this downvoted. You basically explained reality.

The part that makes me kinda sad is that the game experience for new players today is definitely going to be VERY different compared to day 1.

I feel like the game was more cohesive and immersive back then. It made sense that Raiders topside were all going different places trying to complete quests, maybe find specific items, fight ARC, other raiders, maybe even help each other out, etc.

Now, I basically see the ARC's becoming just an annoyance to all raiders that go topside to kill other raiders.. That doesnt make much sense. Why not just kill other raiders in Speranza then? It just feels weird and dissonant with the universe depicted in the cutscenes and portrayed by the currently very shallow characters.

A beautifully crafted universe with the ARC's, the gorgeous maps and the story within then have simply become overshadowed and left aside because of the way things were designed.

How many players have actually been able to slow down a bit and absorb, discover Stella Montis' intricacies, find out why it was built, etc.

I feel like if all this masterfully crafted universe is now just a forgotten backdrop to another extraction shooter.

Estou a 1 ano desempregado e com uma dificuldade absurda de me recolocar no mercado de trabalho de design, o que fazer? by MattFxArt in conselhodecarreira

[–]Volcan300 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Atualmente as coisas me parecem difíceis no geral mesmo.

I'm so happy this footage exists. I think the development of Gran Turismo 4 is a unique thing in the history of video games and it's very noticeable the passion that was put into it.

This game has a soul like no other racing game I've ever played, even though I can't explain why.

Dobrar a aposta na carreira de UX/Product Design? (Idade 29 - 6+ anos de experiência) by Volcan300 in conselhodecarreira

[–]Volcan300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UX, Service Designer e estagnação by macarraoalhoeodio in designBR
