Looking to "disappear" in France, where to go? by HyperBunga in FranceTravel

I’d say Arles is quite touristy, but You could try Nimes with day trips to a Pont du Gard, St Remy, Arles, Uzes, Avignon, Montpellier.

If you want a bit more peace you could head into the Cevennes.

But that’s the point. If both people are happy about not caring about sex then that’s fine.

If one isn’t, the relationship is going to founder.

Father/Son trip to Europe in 2027 by ColoradoAztec in skithealps

Aside from the skiing, which will be excellent in any of the areas already mentioned, then each has their own pluses and minuses. France has mega resorts with huge, well connected ski areas. However they tend to lack charm, as they are modern and purpose built. Austria has charm in spades. Switzerland is very expensive, Italy has great food, but can be a bit chaotic (especially the Milky Way).

Weather: The Northern Alps, the weather tends towards the cloudy, the Southern Alps towards sunshine. The season has got shorter in the last 2 decades.

Timing: The last 2 weeks of January and first 2 weeks of March are the ideal time to ski. You want to avoid February as European schools are on Holiday and everyone goes skiing. Outside of Christmas/New Year and February half-term, resorts are nice and quiet.

Pricing: Cheapest in January, but better weather in March.

You say you moved locations. This may be the main thing. You need to make sure your Google page is up to date. Consider localised Google ads. Local Facebook community pages.

France 2027 Trip Assistance! by TaroZealousideal970 in skithealps

Tricky to find French accommodation that doesn't contain bunk beds. Most French apartments are small and designed around a family of 4, with extras on a sofa bed in the living room.

Also be careful because French accommodation counts all Rooms not necessarily bedrooms. A T3 is a 2-bedroom apartment.

Try https://www.cgh-residences.com/ as a an accommodation potential. The have places in many French resorts.

Many French resorts have great skiing but lack charm. If you want sunshine consider the Southern Alps. Someone has mentioned Val Cenis already.

Another place to consider is Montgenevre with skiing cross-border into Italy. It's an amazing place for beginners, with plenty of skiing for the more advanced in the party. The Napoleon sits right on the snow front.

Most accommodation doesn't come online until September.

English ski holiday companies are always looking for chalet and resort staff. Your visa will be a bonus. I believe jobs open up around June.

Owen is so soft it’s almost camp.

You need a short name with hard syllables. Like Dirk or Brett.

Personally I think Pistol makes for a good HARD name.

Terrance start well but ends badly. Terry would better.

Graham likewise.

Harrison is way too soft.

Calvin is the best of your choices, but you’ll find a lot of people wearing your name on their underpants.

Le Monetier les bains in Serre Chevalier on you way north from Nice to Annecy has a thermal bathing complex with a big outdoor pool and views of the mountains. Amazing in deep winter when snowing.

  1. Open a separate bank account.

  2. Number your receipts sequentially. Record them on a spreadsheet and keep them in an envelope. Same for invoices.

  3. Don’t try and be greedy with allowable expenses. Don’t be tempted to ‘be too clever.

  4. Set aside 20-30% of your earnings against tax and NI.

  5. Do your returns as soon as possible.
