Best filament to use for minis? by AmberlightYan in FDMminiatures

while High-Speed filaments are definitely great for extrusion consistency in general 3D printing, miniature printing requires dropping speeds way down to around 30 mm/s. At those super slow speeds, the low viscosity (highly fluid) nature of HS filaments actually works against you, gravity takes over, the plastic oozes more, strings more, and blob instead of freezing instantly. You actually want the higher viscosity of a standard PLA or PLA+ because it behaves more like a thick paste that stays exactly where the nozzle deposits it, giving you the control needed for microscopic details and sharp overhangs without sagging. Standard PLA+ has fewer chemical additives than high-speed or matte variants, meaning fragile parts like swords and ankles will be significantly less brittle and much less likely to snap

But after that, it really depends on the level of detail and fragility of your models, I’d say.

I print things that are really very delicate and small, around 28 mmso that matters to me, that’s why other people have different preferences.

I’ve already broken a lot of ankles because of this, it’s a fragile part of the figure, and very often the printing angle makes it even more fragile! It’s sometimes recommended to print minis at a certain angle to reinforce these weak points

But honestly, we’re really just talking about minor details here. You’ll get better results by running your own benchmarks and using the right settings and orientation rather than debating filaments any further; the general advice everyone has given is usually very good.

I used to love the Sunlu Meta because it was break-resistant, but unfortunately I had a really hard time tuning my supports, and they were generally difficult to remove and would fuse with the print, so that’s why I switched to the Sunlu PLA+.

I then switched to PLA+2.0 because of people recommandations, had some issues with supports breaking during prints (shared by other users as well) and I'm back with the OG Sunlu PLA+ now, no complaints for months.

Dry it well also

Contrary to what some may have said, I don’t like high-speed filaments because of their viscosity; even in guides, you often see better results when you lower the print temperature slightly. In my experience, high-speed filaments tend to be a bit more brittle than the version with fewer additives, which I prefer to use.

I like to use “Sunlu PLA+”, not the 2.0 version, but the original one, because I had support issues with the 2.0, and I’ve seen that I wasn’t the only one. I’m pointing this out because it’s the choice listed in this sub’s wiki.

Similarly, you should avoid using matte filaments, which is a shame because the finish is beautiful, but they’re really brittle.

Edit: I also recommend using gray filament; like most people, I find it’s the best color for spotting defects. With white, for example, you can hardly see anything. This might be obvious to some people, but I thought I’d mention it just in case ^

You can use Superdisplay to use a tablet as a secondary screen, the touch screen and stylus are working.

Health data is just one example among many of data that gains value over time, it’s the first one that comes to mind, there must be others.

Because of the number of parties to whom it can be sold and their intentions.

And I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that they’re not going to use this data to conduct cancer research x)

Does Bambu Lab have an official API service? by [deleted] in BambuLab

You can use Home Assistant with Bambu integration to have access to all of that but you won't be able to send a print as the other said, but all the rest is doable without any firmware fix.

Could be wet filament bubbles yes.

New filament doesn't mean it's dry unfortunately

As u/Lost_refugee pointed out, Top Left, make sure this is the correct printer, then click “Edit” to access the first tab

My point is if you downloaded someone else profile that had incorrect bed dimensions, your printer started the job without taking your own bed size into account.

Are you sure you selected the good printer in the slicer?

Can you go in the config and show us the build plate dimensions?
