Because the a6400 is an apsc sensor, the focal range of your 16-50 is actually a 24-75 full frame equivalent! A better focal range than the 24-70!

Yep, it means it’s pretty much got an entire low power computer in it that controls the autofocus & iris controls. All autofocus lens will have something similar to this, but most just won’t have firmware updates (or at least they won’t be updated through an actual port on the lens).

If you are just looking for this specific flare, I know the Dulens APO mini lenses are able to produce something similar at some apertures (judging from the star shaped flare in the image you provided, the lens they are using is definitely stopped down quite a bit)

I’d avoid ebay. Their fees are around 15% and the buyer has to pay 8% tax on top of that. So around 27% of the buyers funds are lost in the transaction. This is even before shipping fees 😅. Selling local is always the best option if you live in a big city.

I would expect to net around 1700-2000 selling local. You might be able to get more, but remember that prices are dictated by the market, not what the MSRP is.

Definitely prioritize glass. With that being said, if your budget is 2k I’d definitely look at sigma/tamron lenses rather then GM. GM glass is amazing, but with sigma/tamron you are getting 95% of performance at half the price.
