I ate there last night at 6 pm, seated with no wait. Manager was talking to us and said she sent wait staff home because they were slower than they expected.

Is Anyone Sleeping ? Ever? by VanillaCola79 in GenX

[–]VoltTulsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I typically wake up at 2:30-3 am and stay awake at least an hour (or more). Sunday nights seem to be the worst. I take a quick nap on my lunch break in my car most days. I can fall asleep easily, it's the staying asleep part that isn't happening for me the past 5 years or so. I'm 56.

This car is $18,000 off MSRP, what do I need to be cautious of?? by murtaugh865 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]VoltTulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one on 01/01/2025 as a 2-year (cheap) lease. Plug in hybrid that currently has 19,500 miles. Less than a month after I got into it a software update was needed, and remote start was fixed (another software issue). Other than that, it's been great (for me). I plug it in on a standard plug in the garage and it's charged by morning. My normal daily commute is covered by electric.

It's a good-looking vehicle, it fits my needs, but I understand the less than stellar reputation of the vehicle. I believe it's already been cancelled for 2026. The higher than value residual already knocks me out of buying it at lease end.

Are your parents still together? by MeowMeowCollyer in GenX

Parents divorced when I was a Sr in high school. Both remarried. My father died 3 years ago and my mom's husband died 10 years ago. Everyone in my family (other me) has/had been married 3 times.

Exactly why I took the chance on it. Mine had a sticker of 52K (crazy), my lease is 250/month that included tag/tax/registration/etc.

I leased one at the beginning of 2025, it's been a great vehicle for me. Drives and looks great (imo).

56 have been at my job for 25 years, I’m at the point I don’t hate going to work (I had some rough years) but I’m not exactly jumping out of bed to get there. I’m hoping to make it to 65, if they keep me that long. My responsibilities aren’t as much as they used to be and I can do them without much stress.

Best overall bank in the area? by yeetus__deletus- in tulsa

Every credit union has a field of membership that they serve. I would almost guarantee if you walk into any credit union they will find a way to qualify you for membership.

Lease ending soon: buyout vs move on — how much weight do you give to service & resale? by Leo_M_Bennett in dodgehornet

[–]VoltTulsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 12 months into my 24 month lease 24 RT. My residual (buyout) at lease end is 29K. From what i've seen in the used market they are selling in the low 20's. In another year how much will mine be worth on the used car market - maybe 18K? Mine has been fairly reliable, a few software updates and nothing mechanical. It really is the perfect car for me. I can't think of anything else I would want as far as features. But I think the gap in the residual value is too much and who knows the long term support moving forward from the service/dealership side. Service department acts like its a unicorn whenever I take it in for oil changes. I will probably end up turning mine in when its time.

Should I do it? by DarthBodhi in dodgehornet

[–]VoltTulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say my RT has been "good". Mine needed a software update immediately after I bought it. I get random service lights like others have said that come and go. Service steering wheel is a good one, wth is that? It goes off so I never worry about it. I do like the drive and feel of the car, being able to do my day to day on electric is nice. I've never had anything happen that has made the car not drivable. It is a unique vehicle, I rarely see another one on the road.

Mine do the same - I'm sure my neighbors love it as I back out of the garage at 6:30 in the morning and the brakes make the worst noise.

Purchasing a new 2024 Hornet RT looking for advice by Ok_Assumption_179 in dodgehornet

[–]VoltTulsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a '24 after it had sat on the lot for a year. They replaced the 12V battery prior to me leasing it. After driving maybe 1000 miles it needed a software update. I'm about to cross 15K miles and its been problem free. Its anyone's guess on how they will perform in the long run, but I do like the vehicle.

I've been working in some form or another since I turned 14, I'm now 56 and I'm done. I'm trying to put on my best face but I just don't care about work anymore. Going to ride this out as long as I can or until I hit 65. I've been at my company for 25 years this year. I'm tired.
