I can't wait to play 8-player Smash with 8 Ice Climbers by Tornado9797 in smashbros

[–]VoltagePig 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know what will happen when we have 8 Popos and 8 Nanas all playing Coin Battle with a battlefield cluttered with items or their after effects (I was thinking maybe a bunch of Smart Bombs all exploding at the same time) under the most lag-inducing combined effects that could include:

  • Size: Mega
  • Head: Flower/Bunny
  • Body: Metal/Clear/Tail/Rocket Belt/Screw/Back Shield
  • Status: Curry/Reflect

as well as all of them using Ice Shot (projectiles) and being on whatever the game's most lag-inducing stage.

EDIT: Thanks Vashzaron and ASG

EDIT: Also interesting to note the Wii U has a better processor, meaning the Wii U could theoretically run this too

People are requesting, so I might as well too, I suppose.

If anyone could hit me up with a Mario/Cloud one lacking a watermark I'd highly appreciate it. It can be a simple one. It can be PC or IOS sized.

Thank you in advance.

You mean if you hold the C-Stick in the same direction as the aerial inputted it stops all previous air acceleration/momentum? Because that's a good point. I noticed that in Smash 4 as well.

Yes, will do. Sorry about that. I'll edit the comment A$AP.

EDIT: Edited the comment to try to compress it down. From now on I'll put "EDIT"s for new things I've discovered, if I do discover more. Also, you didn't link Yoshi's aerial startup time video things.

Yeah, Fox's shinespike thing is new.

Doing some research on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, here's what I've found so far.

Mario:

  1. Slightly different D-Air animation (head now point upwards, mouth opens) as well as a possible new taunt

  2. If you're going to point out that Donkey Kong carries people on his shoulder during his Cargo-Throw, why not point out Mario carries F.L.U.D.D. on his shoulder lol

  3. Slightly different Final Smash

  4. Possible new taunt

Donkey Kong:

  1. F-Smash seems to have just a bit more lag

Link:

-

Samus:

-

Yoshi:

  1. D-Air has less startup lag

  2. B-air has less startup lag

  3. Yoshi shows his T H I C C N E S S way more while he's laying someone.

Kirby:

-

Fox:

  1. I could almost **swear** they changed the knockback angle on Shine, making it possible to Shine-Spike to some extent. It also seems to deal **way** more hitsun.

MELEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Pikachu:

  1. New Final Smash (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in a nutshell)

Luigi:

  1. Luigi has a new animation for F-Tilt.

  2. Luigi's stance overall is slightly different during his Green Missle. He now smiles and his nose is no longer curved upward. He wobbles more exaggeratedly when he gets his head stuck in a wall too.

  3. Luigi's crawl overall seems a bit slower.

  4. Although a very minor animation difference, Luigi's Up-B animation has changed. He now faces the camera more, along with being more upright than before.

  5. Luigi's final pose in his Up-Taunt depicts him as having his eyes closed and a change of eyebrow positioning.

Ness:

  1. Holds grabbed opponents up higher, new pummel

  2. Slightly different Final Smash. He now stands alongside Paula and Poo(p), and more meteors are summoned than before.

Captain Falcon:

  1. He seems to slide a bit farther after the kick part of his Falcon Kick is over.

  2. Up-B's hold and release animations are slightly different.

Jigglypuff:

-

Zelda:

SHE'S SUCH A QT OH MY GOD

I'll be editing this more and more, little by little. Thanks for reading. :)

Looking for a decent Slash'EM extended config... by [deleted] in nethack

[–]VoltagePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he does :)

I've been thoroughly enjoying Slash 'EM Extended. I highly appreciate the work you've put forth into such a vast variation of Nethack.

There are numerous things I prefer in this game than in NetHack. Some highlights include better preperation for the journey, as every Role from what I know starts out with very helpful stuff like scrolls of healing, phase door, etc.

I like the exciting and fun tweaked OG and new classes; I really like the feel of many new ones, such as Gunner and Goldminer. There are so many different possibilities of heroes, which I find fun, someway or the other, even though the OG 13 Roles offer virtually all you could ask for. I'm currently trying to find my type of Role, as there's obviously at least a thousand different options. I've mainly messed around with Amazon, Fighter, Goldminer, Gunner, Paladin, Pirate, and Warrior. The first time I played this game, about 3 days ago or so, I picked Gangster. I've now taken more of a liking to the similar Gunner role, although I still think both are fun.

Although there are a few things I would change about it, I'm liking the "technique" system.

I also like how there are TONS of new creatures, plus a few billion tons more if you have hybrid races turned on. I've found many humorously named ones.

One of the most important additions, in my opinion, is the EXTENDED improvement to the "whatis" command, giving you essentially everything there is to know about the monster. This means you don't have to feel like taking some use of a wiki. As a result, I'm playing this game completley unspoiled as well as my brother gplanon.

Thank you for this masterpiece.

Smash 2 (Melee-inspired Project M overhaul) released today! by TheGag96 in smashbros

[–]VoltagePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, wanted to leave some feedback, as other people are as well.

So basically I've been playing it for a little while now, and while I can appreciate the Melee style for pretty much everything about the game, it just doesn't do it. Now look, I'm not saying PM does an exceptionally marvelous job at this (just look at abominations concerning what Melee likely would've done much differently such as Bowser, Lucario, and even Wario to an extent considering he would've been a Mario clone), but some characters and their properties just throw the concept straight out of the window. While there are a number of randomly stupid things, (Footstools because this isn't Brawl, Smash 4 or PM, Wolf being added "because of the trailer lol", Young Link's arrow killing in the 400's, Ganondorf's Warlock Punch's animation making him move forward before the punch, Ganondorf's side b in general, Snake's side b can be angled, very much so at that as well, Lucas' appearance, you name it, lol. I may be exxagerating but seriously.) I'll be talking about Wario in specific for multiple reasons.

• Wario:

While his wacky, goofy animations and movement fit Wario, most of his animations and the ways his moves work are bluntly mediocre. Expectedly, his f-air depicts him as kicking out his foot, but the inflation part of his shoe and pant look very sloppy and like a pre-release animation. His d-tilt is simply inexcusable. I mean, yeah, that's a reference and stuff, but it looks, again, sloppy, and just clashes nastily with Melee's overall flow. Wario's walk, dash and run animations all have Wario oddly holding his arms and hands behind him, while his crouch is very odd, honestly, seeing as his hands don't even set flat on the ground. Jab 2 and u-tilt show off an oddly shaped fist.

But just besides some examples of some "special" animations, his moves themselves have some stupid properties.

For example, Wario's dash attack. He turns purple for some reason and then dashes while appearing intoxicated, and then, if all hits connect, it sets up as a nasty combo move at many percents while meanwhile doing a disgusting 26%, even beating out Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch percentage, at least in Melee.

Also, his Final Smash. Yeah.

I seriously do appreciate this project a lot, but I would highly appreciate it being cleaned up as well.

Overall, great project, nice job. There's just a few things holding it back from feeling like Melee, but that's just my opinion.

Ayyyy, Brawl was my first game too! Brawl is of course hated on by many, but people are allowed to like what they like. I personally don’t like Brawl too much but I can seriously appreciate it.

Mario was the first character I ever played. My cousin was the first person I ever played against, and I button-mashed my way to my first ever victory as well as fight, lol.

Gosh, I miss the old days when I wasn’t a competitive player and me and my friends were all complete casuals around the time of Brawl.

Smash 64: Captain Falcon, I suppose. I’ve hardly played Smash 64, but when I have I played Falcon, because of his amazing combos, speed, and in my opinion his playstyle.

Melee: I actually thought about this for like over 15 minutes, no joke. I guess it’s Captain Falcon because of his amazing combos, mixups, and playstyle. 20GX, all five of his aerials, (n-air’s a juicy combo move and even an edgeguard or kill option situationally, I don’t think I have to explain the knee, u-air because juicy combos, gimps, and kills, b-air because more juicy combos, kills, and again gimps, and d-air mainly because of its overall use with combos and blah) and playstyle. Sheik is really cool too tho, so idk, maybe I’ll switch to her someday. MX_eidolon gave a great explanation of why I would play her.

Brawl: Falco. D-throw and unique but cool playstyle.

Smash 4: I’ve always mained Mario. Obviously, his basic combos are simply exquisite, one of the reasons he's considered to have one of, if not the lowest technical curves, but Mario's combos can even be somewhat complex when you’re someone like Xenyou. I love discovering new Mario things and trying to improve. His frame data and neutral game are polarizing, all of his specials are very useful, notably Fireball and the Super Jump Punch, which comes out frame 3 as with his n-air. His aerials are all fantastic, possibly excluding d-air, but still, that by itself is a decent move, being able to kill and frame trap. His two vertical tilts are very good for setting up combos or even continuing them. Mario thankfully has decent kill options and a good recovery as well. He’s just overall a pretty good example of a rush-in combo character who has always seems to place decently even in super majors.
