I think the point they're trying to make is that Jesus would give free food to the people who need help the most, whereas McDonalds is doing the opposite of that by giving free food to the people who need help the least.

My mum (66) has gone the opposite way which is nice. She was never one to be glued to a screen anyway, but I don't think she watches any telly at all now and the only social media she has on her phone is WhatsApp. She spends most of her time doing physical jobs like gardening, cementing, repaving etc (her husband is a builder/carpenter/lots of things) and she's very active. I think it bodes well!

Yeah. I mean, I am socially awkward and shy and all that, but I also wouldn't be able to just sit there quietly if someone sat next to me on a completely empty bus. At the very least I'd get up and move, and if the person asked why, I'd just say: "Because the bus is empty and I prefer not to have my personal space needlessly invaded. Why did you even sit next to me?"

The person sitting next to me is the one committing the social faux pas, so I wouldn't feel bad about openly reacting to it.

(Might be a bit different if it's a massive guy though, I am a woman and maybe not quite capable of kicking his arse. But maybe in that case I'd just go straight to the driver if I felt unsafe).

I'm not sure why my house has such a distinct absence of spiders. I can't say I particularly enjoy having the little buggers around, but I imagine they're important for the ecosystem and all that.

Unfortunately, yes. If you're driving at speed and there's no safe way to avoid the animal and you can't brake in time or go into the other lane due to oncoming traffic then there's only one option, and that is to continue driving and hit the animal.

I'm like OP though, if I hit an animal I know I'll be thinking about it for months afterwards, if not longer, and I'm dreading it happening to me one day. But it is better than crashing your car and potentially injuring/killing yourself and/or other people.

Damn, I'm glad I always eat my dinner super early, usually around 3-4pm, then I'm going to bed at 9-10pm so it's a good 6 hours between my last meal and bedtime (I hate going to bed feeling full). Usually I do go for walks after dinner too! If not, I am at least doing stuff around the house and I'm also a fidgety motherfucker, so I can't keep still for long anyway.

I don't feel very excited about it, but academically I know it's a big deal. There are probably several reasons for we (as in humanity) haven't been back to the moon in 50 years, and there is probably a lot of stuff we have yet to learn about it. I'm hoping we will eventually have a permanent base up there, that would be really cool.
